ASHBURN, Vir. — A service of thanksgiving and celebration for life was held on July 21 at the Leesburg Presbyterian Church for a much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Ronald Frazier Aronson, 86, who passed away peacefully on July 14. Burial of his ashes will take place at Branson Cemetery, Loveland, Iowa at a later date.

He was born at home on Oct. 14, 1926 in Sharon, Neb. son of Marjorie White Aronson and George Clifford Aronson, Ron lived in Nebraska until 1940 when his family moved to a farm near Honey Creek, Iowa.

He graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1944, served in the U.S. Army, and graduated from Iowa State University in 1951.

Ron had a long career with 4-H, first in Iowa and later in Connecticut where he served as the State 4-H leader for 21 years before retiring in 1983. In 1990 he moved to Venice, Fla. and spent summers in Bridgewater. For the last four years he and his wife have lived at Ashby Ponds in Ashburn, Vir.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet; a son David of Reston, Vir, and two daughters Ellen Swain (John) of McLean, Vir. and Anne Ojennes (John) of Breckenridge, Colo., two granddaughters, Emily and Megan Swain of McLean, Vir. and a sister, Julie Wisecup (Charlie) of Missouri Valley, Iowa as well as an abundance of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by an older brother George Wentworth Aronson (Estella) of Honey Creek, Iowa.
