As we slowly wind our way through the last days of August, it becomes clearer every day: summer is almost gone, and summer movie season with it. But that doesn’t mean the fun has to end! In fact, what your favorite streaming service has coming next month will almost certainly be better than shelling out $17 to see Suicide Squad again!
Don’t believe me? Well just check out Amazon’s line-up below. In September the network will be debuting Crisis in Six Scenes, the first TV series from Woody Allen. If after that you find you really want to be reminded of how terrible the world is, there’s Wiener-Dog, the newest film from writer-director Todd Solondz. And if you decide it’s time to get into the holiday spirit a little early, there's the Gaga-licious American Horror Story: Hotel, not to mention the legitimately fantastic period horror film The Witch.
Netflix, on the other hand, will finally be premiering Marvel’s much-hyped Luke Cage series. We’ll no doubt immediately fall in love with it, and devour the entire thing in one massive weekend binge. But Cage isn’t coming out until September 30th, so what to watch on the service until then? Well I’ve got 23 sweet words for you on that front: Jaws. One. Through. Four. Even. Though. Only. One. Of. Them. Is. Even. Remotely. Worth. Watching. And. I’m. Not. Talking. About. The. 3D. One.
