A few weeks ago I tweeted about two new eye shadows that I had just added into my beauty collection. I was so excited to finally have purchased these to shadows that I instantly had to let you all in on the lovely new additions, and now today – finally, I have my review and swatches up.
These two colours have been long on my beauty wish list but I always have told myself that I cannot buy a new shadow for my mac palettes until I’ve finished another! I recently just finished a colour that I also really adored called "Patina" by MAC so I figured it was about time to get myself a new one! Unfortunately, as happens when I am in MAC, I convinced myself to purchase two shadows rather than just Patina – silly me! But, I am now the happy owner of “Wood-Winked” and “Brown Script”!
COLOUR:
Woodwinked is described by MAC as an “antique gold” which I feel is a very accurate description. It’s a medium brown colour with strong notes of gold throughout it.
Brown Script: is described as a “warm chestnut brown” and again I feel like that very accurate. The colour is a deep chocolatey brown with notes of terracotta red through it.
FORMULA:
Woodwinked is a Veluxe Pearl formula which means it looks quite metallic. It applies really smoothly which surprised me because I usually find metallic shadows apply slightly flaky/dry. I also have found that this product has little to none fall out which again has been very surprising since I usually find the opposite in metallic eye shadows.
Brown Script is Matte. Matte shadows have no shimmer or dimension, they sit very muted on skin. I love Matte colours for day looks and also to tone down a shimmery eye. I adore how this eye shadow applies. It applies very smooth + soft and blends very easily. This has quickly become one of my absolute favourite eye shadows and I've been wearing it daily!
COST:
Both of these shadows cost $14.00 each which I know it pricey for one small palette shadow. I will say though the pigmentation is amazing and they last a long time so they are 100% worth it. I will be repurchasing these colours when I run out.
