It’s a sad fact that countless conservatives misread their own country, the same way that liberals misread the world outside their country and advocate wacky foreign policies. What follows are basic guidelines to be used to evaluate our own country accurately (for a change). They’re persuasive for reasonable people. They’re about the big picture and common sense, not policy details. 1. America is center-right, not hard-right. Let’s assume that one-third of America self-identify as conservative and twenty-five percent as liberal. What about the forty-two percent? What if many of them live in the center? What if a significant number of the twenty-five percent live

Comments:
This is the Rollover Republican Guard´s Blueprint for FAILURE used in 2008 with McQueeg and 2012 with Willard. Yet the Go Along to Get Along Gang thing Gang of 8 Rubio is the best choice. No Thanks, that assures another loss. This mindset is too prevalent within the party and represented by a known group on this forum.

There´s a hell of a lot of people in this country that are politcally indifferent.Voting isn´t worth while or make a difference.People thank that virtually the same party runs the country and the differences are an act to get voters motivated.I big part of it is a simple personality contest.Who do people want to see on TV speaking for the country.Tea party people broke away from this type stalemate and got behind republicans, otherwise the dems would still control everything, thanks to the big city vote..

FTA:Bottom line: “True” conservatives fail to understand that a larger percentage of Americans than they live near the center. Meanwhile these conservatives turn the rest of us into the “shy Tory” or the “embarrassed conservative.

Reality: If you´re embarrassed by those who desire to be ruled by our laws and our constitution– if you´re embarrassed by the majority who think guns save lives and protect us from total anarchy– if you´re embarrassed by conservative talk radio which reflects the opinions of a majority of Americans, if you´re embarrassed by the majority of Americans who want to stop illegal immigration and not legalize the millions here already, if you´re embarrassed by all that and true conservative principles— then you aren´t conservative at all– and you don´t reflect America´s current temperature!

Bottom line: There is no vast “middle of the road” or moderate America when it comes to this next election. If you stay in the middle of the road you will get run over!

I´ve never subscribed to that ancient admonition that real men don´t cry. I´ve witnessed men much harder and tougher than me shed tears under the stresses, frustrations, and personal losses of ground combat. But when those men relaxed their emotional defenses and allowed tears to flow, it was within the relative privacy of their fire teams or squads, among those who had shared their stresses and damned well knew the men crying were no weaklings. I can imagine the tears of frustration shed by those soldiers and sailors who wash out of elite programs like Ranger and SEAL training, especially

The Obama administration might hold a grudge against Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump after he repeatedly questioned the president’s birth certificate, but it seems willing to join Trump in questioning Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX. During the White House press briefing this afternoon, one reporter explained the fight between Cruz and Trump and asked if the president was enjoying the drama around Cruz’s citizenship. “I don’t know if he does, but I sure do,” Earnest quipped as reporters chuckled in response. Earnest then seemed willing to feed the narrative questioning Cruz’s citizenship. “It would be quite ironic if after 7 or 8 years of drama

Donald J. Trump continued to fan the flames of doubt over Senator Ted Cruz’s citizenship on Wednesday, suggesting that his Canadian roots might be a problem if he won the Republican presidential nomination. The decision to confront Mr. Cruz more directly comes as Mr. Trump, who has dominated most national and state polls for months, faces the prospect of losing to the Texas senator in next month’s Iowa caucuses. Popular among evangelical Christians and conservatives, Mr. Cruz has become a favorite to win the first contest of the nominating process. The clash represents a shift in the Republican race because Mr. Trump

Billionaire businessman Donald Trump suggested this week his nearest rival for the Republican presidential nomination may be ineligible for office and won a daylong echo across the political press, despite Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s attempt to brush off the commentary. In raising the issue, Trump said Republicans should be concerned about Democrats hog-tying Cruz with a yearslong legal challenge — and indeed an effort to do just that already is afoot. Rep. Alan Grayson of Florida, an attorney and Democratic Senate candidate, tells U.S. News he will file a lawsuit challenging Cruz’s eligibility should he overtake Trump and win the nomination —

Borders: The savage behavior of “migrant” revelers on New Year´s Eve in Germany should remind Europe that borders matter. But decades of political correctness and moral relativism have brainwashed a generation. The mostly Muslim migrants from North Africa and the Mideast who have swarmed Europe over the past year have strained welfare resources and frayed social ties in nations such as Greece, Hungary, Italy, Germany and France. The challenge faced by Europe in integrating the masses of newcomers was underscored in Cologne, Germany, last weekend. There, more than 1,000 newly arrived men committed some 90 serious crimes, including assault, rape and robbery,

On Sunday, the Times ran a front-page story about Donald Trump’s older brother, Freddy, a heavy drinker who died an early death, back in 1981, at the age of forty-three. Freddy was a free spirit who quit the family real-estate business to become a pilot; Donald was more ambitious, attending Wharton business school and following the lead of his father, Fred, Sr., a developer who built the family fortune. The article contained some interesting stuff about the young Donald Trump. And, buried toward the end, it also referred to an incident that says something about the

The heated rhetoric and large candidate field have made the Republican primary race look loud and messy. But here’s a simple way to view the landscape: The GOP electorate is divided into three, broad groups, each roughly equal in size. There is the socially conservative wing, which has elevated Sen. Ted Cruz and Ben Carson. The GOP’s establishment-friendly, more-centrist wing backs Sen. Marco Rubio and a few others. And then there are the Donald Trump voters, a largely working-class and male group drawn together by Mr. Trump’s unique persona and, in large measure, his promise to end illegal immigration.
