The day I revealed my living room makeover (more than 2 years ago) was a big day here at The Turquoise Home. It is the 4th all-time highest viewed post on my blog and has been pinned more than 26 thousand times.

Therefore it’s also generated the most questions of almost any post on my blog. I am frequently asked about my curtains, wall color, media cabinet, couch and club chair. But the most asked about item in my living room is by far my rug.

I’ve honestly only purchased four rugs for my home, from three different sources. But I think they are all great sources for affordable, fantastic rugs. And even though I have mostly singular experiences at each one, I have friends who’ve purchased from these places as well. So, I feel comfortable recommending them. (I’m not compensated for this post. I just wanted to share!)

RugsUSA.com: This is my #1, hands down, go-to spot for rug shopping.  This is where I bought my living room rug and I have 10 more rugs on my wish list. I hope to soon buy a large rug for the master bedroom. Like, I wish I had bought one already, but the pool membership was due. #bummer #butyayforsummer

The rug in my living room is the Homespun Moroccan Trellis Rug in charcoal. I think it looks like a cross between charcoal and navy, but I love the color. My sister-in-law owns it in the bluecolorway and it’s also very pretty. The light part of the design does show stains, but I’m OK with that. I don’t stress out too much over a few little stains here and there. And we don’t eat in the living room, so it’s not redkoolaid or anything like that!RugsUSA.com frequently has 60%-80% off sales, so make sure to buy when the rugs are on sale!

Target: This is the one place where I’ve purchased two rugs. The rug in my playroom/dining room is one that I had my eye on for years. And it has met my expectations completely! (The ripples that you see in the above photo fell out over time. I took that picture right after I unrolled it!)

I bought the 7 x 10 size, which is only available online an in the light brown/natural color. The rug is fabulous, feels great under the feet and is inexpensive for the size. I do still need to purchase a rug pad, which I’m sure will just make it feel even more comfy and cushy. My runner in the entry way is also from Target. I found it in the clearance aisle and paid less than $15 for it. Don’t ever leave Target without checking the clearance aisle. Ever.

HomeGoods: This store has some great finds! And since their inventory is changing out all the time, I like to check back frequently! I purchased a fun, herringbone patterned runner for my laundry room more than a year again. Have I revealed it yet? Nope. Has my laundry room been in the midst of a makeover for more than 2 years? Yep. #slackerDIYer

So there they are! My three most loved rug sources when I’m on the hunt for some floor love. Floor love? That sounds a little odd, but I’ll go with it. The next purchase is definitely the master bedroom. That has nothing to do with floor love. Oh my.

I think a soft and cushy rug in there will be like heaven when I wake up and it softens the blow of having to get out of bed every morning. I am so not a morning person.

Where is your favorite place to buy an awesomely, budget-friendly rug? Do tell!

Don’t miss out on the behind-the-scenes fun!
