Intel is doubling down on its quest to grab the VR market. They previously announced “Project Alloy” an all in one headset and now Intel has announced that they will build a new virtual reality studio in LA to produce high-quality VR content.

Company Chief Brian Krzanich called the “Intel Tech Experience Labs,” specifically for sports and entertainment virtual reality projects. While the company hasn’t released more details about the studio yet, LA Times said it will focus on helping companies and other third parties create VR videos using Intel’s technology. VentureBeat also said that the studio will build upon the 360-degree replay tech Intel purchased earlier this year that the NBA used to show different angles of the court.

By building a VR studio, Intel is following in the footsteps of other companies that already made a huge investment in future VR technology. Facebook’s Oculus has the Story Studio, It’s almost like a Disney studio of VR that releases short films with VR gear. YouTube equipped their offices in LA and Newyork with VR rigs already to shoot for VR content , AOL acquired a VR studio for 360-degree HuffPo videos. Microsoft also has Halogen and their own VR studio.

More information can be known when Intel most likely releases more details about its venture in the future.
