It’s been a while since Lego’s have been a big deal in my home.

But, whenever I visit a Lego store, I am amazed at what people have constructed.

Visiting the Lego World

When my son was younger, we had what I would easily estimate as, thousands of Lego building blocks in our home.

In our minds, we had found something that he liked to do and helped him with so much, that we (and others) kept buying him more and more. It became hard to pass up that new Lego set as a gift on a birthday or holiday. I can assure you that I have stepped on my fair share of those popular building blocks.

I almost forgot all about Lego’s until I visited a Lego store while at Disney a few years ago. These stores show off some amazing creations made out of Legos!

We stumbled into the Lego store not because it was there or to find souvenirs to bring home.

We went in there because we were intrigues by the Lego creations outside of the store. I suppose that showing off these creations outside of the store is some kind of a ploy to get us in there. The ‘ploy’ worked and we did go in there. And, for under $5, we found a cool little key chain to bring home to our one-time Lego addict.

So cool! This is made out of Legos. Talk about creativity. I took this photo at the Lego Store at Rockefeller Center. #nyc #newyorkcity #poshonabudget @poshonabudget #lego @lego #creative #inspiration #quote

Have you ever wondered who makes these amazing Lego store creations?

The truth about these amazing Lego creations in the stores is that they are made by professional Lego Builders!

The professional Lego Builders are adults who seem to have fulfilled their lifetime ambitions of building with Lego blocks and getting paid to do so.

You can actually apply for this job by visiting the Lego website.

Lego says that professional Lego Builder are called “LEGO Certified Professionals”

The LEGO Certified Professionals is a community-based program made up of adult LEGO hobbyists who have turned their passion for building and creating with LEGO bricks into a full-time or part-time profession.

LEGO says that the LEGO Certified Professionals are not LEGO employees.

They are officially recognized by the LEGO Group as trusted business partners.

Each LEGO Certified Professional is selected for the program based on his or her:

– Building proficiency

– Enthusiasm for the LEGO brick and building system

– Professional approach towards other LEGO fans and the broader public

Right about now we are all wondering, how much money can you make constructing Lego’s for a living?

Rumor has it, and I’m not an expert- this is just rumor, that a Professional Lego creator can make from $10 an hour up to just under $40k. While this may not sound like a lot of money to some, think about the job satisfaction that would come from making Lego creations all day long.

Aladdin is made entirely out of Lego's. That is impressive! #lego #poshonabudget @poshonabudget #disney #disneyland #legos #travel #travelblogger #california

In order to become a ‘Master Lego Builder’ aka the dude creating the amazing creations that we see at the Lego stores, you have to work your way up to it starting as an apprentice.

The apprentice Lego person is the person going around gluing all of the pieces in place after the Master Lego Builder has created the amazing creations that we see in the stores.

And, that in itself, answers that question as well.
