This week, the Scarecrow Video series that examines the role of women in horror films will look at The Hunger.

The very hilarious historian and essayist Sarah Vowell reads from her new book, Lafayette in the Somewhat United States, a chronicle of George Washington's trusted officer and friend Marquis de Lafayette. (A copy of the book is included in the ticket price.) Then Stranger editor-in-chief Christopher Frizzelle will interview Vowell onstage, followed by a Q&A with the audience.

A wildly diverse Earshot Jazz Festival concert at Benaroya Hall in which all the elements intrigue.

This talk by the Seoul-based artist Jung Yeondoo takes place early in the morning, just after you've awakened from your own dreams. He'll talk about his project Dreams Come True, Almost, in which he represented, in photographs, the dreams of adolescents.
