Brooklyn based filmmakers, and loyal Red’s Army readers, Picture Planet, will be having the NYC premiere of their first feature “Chicken” this Thursday:

CHICKEN is the story of underachieving Thai food delivery guy Poh Phuk, who spends his days dreaming of glory on the basketball courts. But when Poh’s hero, the legendary White Mike publicly humiliates him, it’s time to turn his dream into reality. With the help of his coach, best friend and mother, Poh seeks revenge in this off the wall comedy.

The film was shot in Greenpoint and Williamsburg. It stars Vandal Truong (House of Cards), Michael Gilhooly (Oz), Erich Green and a host of other New York theater and television veterans. Rogue Cinema magazine recently said “Think of the most extreme movie spoof that you know- Chicken tops any of those. Silly, absurd and shocking.” CHICKEN premieres this Thursday, August 15th @ 7:00pm at Bow Tie (formerly Clearview) Cinemas in Chelsea. The event is free and drinks will be served on the mezzanine following the screening. Bow Tie Cinemas is located at 260 West 23rd.

So if you live in the NYC area, go and check out “Chicken”, and meet two great Celtics fans while you’re at it. The guys behind Picture Planet, Dan Bowers and Vandal Truong, will both be at the premiere. Get at them on Facebook or Twitter for more info.
