The nominees for the 2017 NAACP Image Awards was announced earlier this week and Beyonce, with seven nominations and Birth of a Nation and Nate Parker, leads the pack with six nods.

The awards show, which will air live on February 11 from Pasadena, California on TV One, celebrates the best in music, television and books, including the ABC comedy “black’ish,” HBO’s hit series “Insecure,” ”Survivor’s Remorse” and “The Carmichael Show, ” who will compete for comedy honors. Best drama series nominations went to “Empire,” ”Power,” ”Queen Sugar,” ”This Is Us” and “Underground.”

The Lemonade singer dominates the board, including nominations for entertainer of the year and outstanding female artist and best album for her latest album. She has also been nominated for nine Grammy bids. Her little sister, Solange, isn’t far behind, earning five Image Award nods, including best female artist and best album, A Seat at the Table.

For the outstanding female artist title, Knowles is nominated alongside Alicia Keys, Fantasia and K. Michelle. Top male artist nominees include 24K Magic crooner Bruno Mars, Anthony Hamilton, Chicago native Chance the Rapper, Kendrick Lamar and Maxwell, who’s currently touring with Mary J. Blige on the King and Queen of Hearts world tour.

Atlanta star Donald Glover also scored three nominations for writing, acting, and directing, as Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James will receive the NAACP Jackie Robinson Sports Award.

The 48th Annual NAACP Image Awards will air on TV One, live, hosted by Anthony Anderson on February 11, 2017 at 9:00pm ET.

The NAACP Image Awards honor accomplishments of people of color working in TV, music, literature and film, also recognizing people and groups that promote social justice through creative endeavors.
