The surprise wins. The performances. The eclectic fashion. Last night’s Grammy Awards ceremony was entertaining and full of memorable moments.

Newcomer Sam Smith won four awards, taking home trophies for “Record of the Year,” “Song of the Year” “Best New Artist” and “Best Pop Vocal Album.”

One of my favorites, Lady Gaga won “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album” alongside Tony Bennett for their hit record, “Cheek to Cheek.” Industry favorites Beyonce and Jay Z took home gold for “Best R&B Performance” and “Best R&B Song” for their hit “Drunk in Love.” Beyonce was shut out of the “Album of the Year” award however, when seasoned alt-rock musician Beck won for his sleeper hit “Morning Phase.” He also took home the award for “Best Rock Album.” For a complete list of winners from the 2015 Grammy Awards, click here.

On the fashion front, Taylor Swift won my award for “Best Dressed.”  Proving that combining vibrant colors is completely acceptable (and super chic), Swift’s red carpet style was superb. Rocking a gorgeous hi-low satin gown from designer Elie Saab in spring-ready teal, she combined it with sparkling teal earrings, matching eye makeup and an open toe sandal in fuchsia.  Instead of opting for a nude or white shoe, I absolutely love the added color interest here; the fun hue of Swift’s shoes tied her look together perfectly and proved you can play with color when it comes to footwear.

Now, I usually focus on finding a shoe that looks similar to the stars’ footwear I feature, but today, let’s look at color! If you want to incorporate a *little color into your daytime or night-out look, or go all-out with color like Swift, fuchsia is a great choice. It looks hot with black, wonderful with white, and I absolutely love the idea of rocking it with teal like Taylor did. So if you’re stuck in a style rut, it’s time to “Shake it Off,” and say “Hello” to color!

Steve Madden Varcityy (Women’s)

Whether you want to wear your favorite dark denim or looking to add sass to your evening out, this gorgeous pump gives you the right amount of pizazz to take you into the fashion big leagues. The D’Orsay silhouette gives your overall style a shapely look, and the 4-1/2″ heel is just high enough to add a bit of drama. The Fuchsia Suede is so rich and energetic – perfect for breathing new life into your look.
