Perky Jerky was nice enough to send me four bags of their premium jerky to test out, so that I could share my opinions with you. They sent me two 2.2 oz bags of their original Turkey Perky Jerky and two 2.2 oz bags of their original Beef Perky Jerky. I was very excited, because I have never tried jerky with an extra kick...I could definitely use the energy and stamina for the many hours of studying I will soon have to endure for school. I also think the jerky would be a great pre or post-workout snack. I always get hungry after I go to the gym, but I don't want to pig out on something unhealthy and ruin what I've accomplished. With all the protein, this could work as a before or after snack for the gym! My boyfriend and I are huge beef jerky fans, so I let him help me out with his opinion on this review.

My boyfriend and I really liked the Turkey Perky Jerky. I have never seen a company that offers anything other than beef jerky, so this was interesting to try. It tastes similar to beef to me, but a little bit leaner. I was surprised at how few calories it had and how it has no fat. I would definitely pick this as a healthy snack between meals. My boyfriend is a bigger fan of the beef, but he liked the Turkey as well.

My boyfriend and I both really liked the Beef Perky Jerky. It doesn't have that cardboard texture like some brands of jerky do (it is actually moist, probably because of the added ingredients), and the chunks are good sized. It is easier to chew, soft, and full of flavor. I love the mixture of ingredients. My boyfriend ate about half the bag, because he needed some energy before work! I think you get a lot more for your money than with other brands.
Besides myself and my boyfriend, my dog is the biggest beef jerky lover that I know. I can never have it to myself, because he's bound to beg a piece off of me. When he saw me tear open the Perky Jerky packaging, he woke from a sound sleep, trotted over, and sat on the floor in prime begging position. He wanted to be a part of the review! I couldn't get many pictures because he doesn't exactly stop and pose for the camera, but he was about to wrestle the bag out of my hands. He even stuck his head in the bag. I gave him a piece and it was gone within milliseconds. It's safe to say that Icarus gives Perky Jerky a huge thumbs up also! I don't mind giving it to him because of the all-natural ingredients.
