BottleHood is a company that was founded in 2009, which operates out of Las Vegas, Nevada. They specialize in manufacturing glassware products from repurposed beer, wine, liquor, and soda bottles. These bottles come from various places in their community, whether it be a restaurant, bar, event, or even a home. BottleHood also makes recycled wood products. BottleHood cares deeply for their community and their environment, and strives to stimulate their economy, create jobs, and save their environment all at the same time. Their products are made from a cold method, which is much safer for the environment. They were awarded Bronze certification by the Green America’s Green Business Network.

BottleHood offers a HUGE variety of recycled products. I didn't even know that you could turn a bottle into some of these things! I love both the concept of upcycling to create something new, as well as the way the glass adds to the design. BottleHood's creations are artistic, modern, and highly innovative. They are great additions to the home, or accent pieces to add to your own personal jewelry collection. If I had it my way, I would purchase almost their entire collection to furnish my new apartment! BottleHood turns a typical serving dish or vase into a piece that is so beautiful. By purchasing one of their products, you will certainly be enhancing your decor. I have seen dishes made from beer bottles before, but I have never seen a lighting fixture. I think the lamps are adorable and would make a wonderful gift for the person that seems to have everything. Aren't the shot glasses cool, too? I know that my friends would be jealous of those, male or female. You can find BottleHood products on their website, or inside Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.
BottleHood was generous enough to let me
pick between two of their necklaces so that I could review one and share
my opinions with you. My necklace is actually one of a kind, and not
sold on their website! I chose to review the Skyy Vodka Lariat on
Gunmetal Chain Necklace.
I chose this necklace because I happen to love
blue glass; my mom has a big collection of it at home, ranging from
little birds, to cups, to household pieces. I knew that she would love
to borrow it also, so this was the perfect piece. Also, I'm pretty
partial to Skyy Vodka, so it is cool to tell people that my necklace is
made from one of their bottles! I liked the design of the necklace,
because it is far from simple -- it has a large 3" circular bead with
two smaller circular beads. Whenever I am shopping for new jewelry, I
find myself attracted to the pieces that really make a statement. I like
big, bold, and creative pieces...and that is exactly what this necklace
is!
My
Skyy Vodka Lariat on Gunmetal Chain Necklace arrived very quickly. As
you can see from the pictures, it is a beautiful, dark blue color, with a
slightly frosted texture. All of the edges are smoothed over, so you
can tell that BottleHood does quality work. I love that this necklace
can be worn in many different ways. The chain is attached at the main,
larger circular bead but is left open otherwise. You can hang the
smaller circles in several different positions to make a variation of
designs. I think that circular jewelry is really trendy right now. This
necklace will go great with many of my outfits -- whether they are
flashy or toned down. The color goes good with just about anything. The
chain on my necklace can be anywhere from 18-24", depending on how I am
wearing it. I have included several pictures so that you can see the
different ways I have chosen to wear it with a sequined black top. I am
actually going to wear it to the movies tonight! None of my friends have
seen it yet, but my mother already had to put it on and test it out for
herself, because she loved the design and the concept behind the
necklace. I feel great that I am wearing something upcycled that is, at
the same time, fashionable. I highly recommend purchasing jewelry or any
of the other pieces from BottleHood's website -- you won't be
disappointed!
