The Night Life of Malta

Fast evolving into an Ibizan style island, Malta is now home to all day beach parties, music festivals and a vivacious nightlife.

The Malta clubbing scene is renowned for hosting international DJs like Paul Oakenfold, Erick Morillo, Magda, Tiesto, and Van Heill for guest weekends throughout the year. This scene thrives all year round and is an all-week affair in a variety of venues, from large clubs to quieter bars where some excellent house DJs entertain and the admission is free. The main nightlife clubbing action is in Paceville, on the coast near St. Julians, where the clubs and bars are in abundance.

If the summer heat is too much, Malta offers exciting activities all year round. February sees the annual carnival where Valletta is taken over by colorful floats and costumed party goers. Pop fans can also enjoy the festival season in the sun with the Isle of MTV. This year’s lineup includes songstress Nicole Scherzinger, Enrique Inglesias and the ‘Bonkers’ Dizzee Rascal’.

The isle of Malta has been visited by many a celebrity including, Lady Gaga, Will. I.Am, Jessie J, Rita Ora and Snoop Dogg. More recently, Malta has seen the likes of Bruce Willis as well as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie!

For all foodies, there are many eateries that offer or specialise in local fare, serving their own versions of traditional specialities. There is nothing better to accompany local Maltese dishes than a wine produced on the islands.

Diving in Gozo

For a tempo and scene change from endless shorelines and a variety of caves, tunnels, natural harbours, wrecks, and marine and coral life.

What to expect: warm and clear water with excellent visibility as far down as 30m, and around fifty plus dive sites including the famous Blue Hole, Dwerja Point and Fungus Rock. Since all the sites are so close together, divers can see a variety of underwater scenes. For the more experienced diver, great night diving options are available where the marine world’s vibrancy is highlighted by torchlight.
