Business Unit Overview:
This division is responsible for providing professional services to support product portfolio. 
 
Client facing engagements across the region. Typically these engagements involve implementing and servicing products within the regions major financial institutions.
 
 
 
Business Unit Objectives:
·       Produce and deliver a clear strategy for your business unit
·       Deliver Business Unit projects on time and to budget to quality standards;
·       Deliver revenue targets
·       Deliver annual cost savings for the EMEA business unit through increased utilisation
·       Cost Control - cost within practice focus on wise use of non billable travel and consultant’s awareness of expense submission to lead to timely payment of invoice
·       Partners - continual assessment to identify and manage partner resource
·       Achieve gross margin targets
·       Manage resources and capacity to targeted goals of billability and to deliver to revenue forecasts; this will require planning up to 4 quarters ahead
·       Common project methodology - 90% compliance on statistics issued by PMO and readiness to deliver an IPM project by EMEA based resources, trained and supported
·       Innovation of services -15% of booking attributable to Operational Excellence
·       Client Satisfaction - 80% targets for EMEA
·       Provide estimates and statements of work within agreed service levels to the sales teams (within 24 hours in some cases)
 
 
The role of Practice Lead is expected to consistently provide effective, progressive, innovative, collaborative leadership, including but not limited to the following:
 
Revenue
Maximise realisation of bookings to revenue
Maximise PS impact supporting Sales in generating new and incremental revenue
Effectively manage revenue outlook and forecast
Maximise SIR attainment
Collaborate with Sales to optimise pricing of services
 
Margin
Manage costs to optimise profitability for the unit, including but not limited to:

Direct labour costs

Direct vendor expense; software, hardware, data provider, etc.

contract labour expense

Expense direct allocation costs

Borrowed labour costs.

Leverage  ecosystem opportunities to optimize margin

Effectively raise and manage risks – which typically can impact costs and margins.

 
Resource Management
Manage demand forecast and capacity planning process
Manage utilisation, including billable utilisation
Plan and manage borrowed, GDC and Partner resources
Manage sales assist efforts
Manage ‘free work’
Manage headcount
 
Client Satisfaction
Assure quality delivery that meets commitments and client expectations

Identify quality enablement gaps across the VDC and work to address and eliminate such gaps

Work with Sales / CP to set and manage client expectations
Provide leadership which emphasises quality and client focus
Visit clients and solicit feedback; quarterly service SLA reviews, planning sessions, etc.

In addition to the above responsibilities this role would also have additional responsibility for the following:
 
·        Direct Line Management for Large Client Programmes and projects assigned
·       Leading the Virtual Delivery Management Forum – building a virtual team and increasing standards; responsibility for all PM capacity planning and recruitment
·       Escalation point for all projects in trouble across the group; leadership of the Red Projects Forum; trouble shooting as appropriate
·       Deputising for Head.
·       Be the representative on large client facing steering committees; building strong relationships across our large clients in the region.
·       Leadership of the Project Management Strategic initiative to change and improve the way we lead our projects with our clients
·       Management of programme to deliver change.
 
 
·       Educated to degree standard, ideally in a discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science or Information Management. Or have gained the equivalent experience in a commercial environment
·       Evidence of continual professional development
·       Experience of operating in a consultancy/client facing environment
·       A strong background in the credit risk environment ideally within the retail banking sector
·       Highly developed written and oral business communication skills
·       Strong negotiation and influencing skills
·       Good understanding of project management techniques
