I’ve been curious about essential oils for a while now. But I tend to stay away from things until the “craze” has died down, and there’s been such a craze going on with oils, am I right?
I don’t go a day without seeing a blog post on essential oils, or a pin that tells me how to use essential oils, or a friend on Facebook inviting me to an essential oils event. And like I said, I’ve been curious about all things essential oils for a while now – there’s just so much information that it’s hard to know what to believe!

So when Ella from Homdox contacted me to see if I’d like to peek through their catalog and pick a product to review, I wasn’t even thinking of anything related to oils, to be honest. When I popped over to the main Homdox site I discovered everything from Home & Kitchen products to Toys & Games, and tons more! But once I narrowed things down a little bit, I discovered this nifty little product:
THIS, my friends, is an Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier Oil Aroma Diffuser. (Say that 3 times fast!) Isn’t it cute?!
I did a quickie order off Amazon for some decent essential oils to test, and once they had arrived, I un-boxed my new treasure.
First of all, I really like “the look” of it! It’s unobtrusive and I think the wood grain is a nice touch. It would definitely work nicely in any home or office!
Second of all, it came with very clear instructions for use, which is always a plus!
So, I had explained to my husband (who has HORRIBLE allergies) that I was going to be testing some essential oils in a diffuser to see if that helped some of his sniffles. He wasn’t too keen on the idea, but decided to go along with me due to his motto: “A happy wife? A happy life!” It just so happened that, on the day I received the oils and was able to get the diffuser going, he had been out in the yard with some freshly-cut grass. So his allergic reaction was at a pretty severe point when he came inside – the perfect opportunity for me!
I mixed up some lavender, peppermint and lemon and let the diffuser go to work!
It’s a quiet little thing that pumps a nice steady stream of good-smelling steam at a good rate! And the light on the top is a nice touch. There are actually 7 different color cycles it moves through, or you can turn the light off completely.
By the end of the day, my husband was saying he THOUGHT he felt a little bit better, but he wasn’t sure. I refilled the diffuser (it’s super easy to empty, wipe down and refill) and put it in our bedroom while we slept that night, and the next morning, he proclaimed that he did indeed feel better! In fact, it was the shortest allergy attack he’s had in quite some time, AND he has asked if I’m going to “turn on the oils” every night before bed since then! YES!
In the end, I have to say that Homdox definitely offers a quality product with this diffuser, and due to the efficient and speedy ordering and shipping process, you’ll soon find me checking out their site more thoroughly and even ordering additional products! I would totally recommend that you do the same!
