In the lead-up to his seconds studio album ‘Because The Internet’, Childish Gambino approached Aussie beat-maker Ta-Ku for a remix of ‘Telegraph Ave’. It was a good move. The result is this A-team fusion of silky smooth RnB sounds surrounding Ta-Ku’s trademark style of top-notch, hip-hop production.

Leaked via his own Twitter account late last week (classy), Gambino unleashed this internet bombshell to the world, quickly launching it to over 100,000 hits on Soundcloud over the weekend.

From the get-go, Ta-Ku draws us in to his world. Placing the hook front-and-centre as he steers us through chopped-up samples and an alluring pad that seduces in to the drop.

Lets be honest, ol’ mate Ta-Ku has spliced the shit out of this one… and what more would you expect? But his mastery is unquestionably demonstrated through his ability to do so, while maintaining the soul and character of the original. This allows him to create something that feels familiar but keep you on your toes. This is a bloke who is leading his craft.
