One Direction have revealed that they want to follow in Take That's footsteps - by splitting up and reuniting ten years later.

Directioners are sure to be crying at the news that their favourite boyband want to break up at the height of their fame.

Niall Horan told The Daily Mirror: 'We want to be like Take That or
Gary Barlow – take 10 years out and then come back.'

Why did One Direction name new album Take Me Home?

Take That reunited for a massive comeback tour in 2005 after splitting in 1996.

Robbie Williams told Metro this week that he thought
Harry Styles could become a successful solo star like he has.

He said: 'I remember being 21, seeing
George Michael, who's ten years older, and thinking, "There's a vacancy there".

'So there must be a Harry Styles looking at me, going, "He's over the hill now".'

One Direction unveiled their latest single Little Things yesterday.

The track was penned by the band's mate Ed Sheeran, who wrote the song when he was just 17-years-old.

Niall told Nick Grimshaw on his BBC Radio 1 breakfast show: 'We heard the song and said, "yeah, that's a cracker and we want it."'

He added: 'For the video, we just kind of sit around in a studio and act like we're recording the song.'

Little Things is the second single to be taken from their forthcoming album Take Me Home.
