Santiago Garcia-Castanon, WCU professor of Spanish, recently gave two presentations at an international conference focusing on Miguel de Cervantes, author of “Don Quixote.”

The conference was organized by the Universidad Internacional Menendez Pelayo in Santander, Spain.
Garcia-Castanon’s presentation was titled “El legado cervantino en las artes: ilustraciones fantasticas de Don Quijote” (roughly translated, “Cervantes’ legacy in the arts: Fantastic illustrations of Don Quixote.”
His second talk was as a guest speaker at the Aula de Cultura in Aviles, where he gave a lecture on the topic “Las imagenes de Don Quijote a traves del tiempo” (“The images of Don Quixote over time”).
