The Canadian Hockey League announced today that forward Christophe Boivin of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending February 19 after scoring four goals with five assists for nine points in three games with a plus-minus rating of +8.

Boivin recorded a trio of multi-point performances for the Titan who extend their winning-streak to five rising to sixth place in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League overall standings with a 32-20-3-2 record. The overager scored a goal and added an assist on Wednesday as second star of a 4-3 road win over the Moncton Wildcats, then picked up a pair of assists Friday as part of a 9-0 home win over the Halifax Mooseheads. He finished the week by notching his first career hat-trick along with two assists for a career-high five points as first star of a 7-2 win against the Wildcats on Saturday.

A 21-year-old native of Quebec, Boivin is playing in his fourth season with the Titan who selected him in the first round of the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft. In 57 games this season he’s tallied a career-high 36 goals along with 39 assists for 75 points and surpassing the 200-point milestone in Sunday’s game which was the 244th of his four-year tenure. He currently leads the Titan in scoring and ranks ninth overall in the QMJHL.

Also considered for the award this week was Chicago Blackhawks prospect Alex DeBrincat of the Erie Otters who scored three goals and four assists for seven points in three games eclipsing the 100-point mark for a third straight season and Edmonton Oilers prospect Ethan Bear of the Seattle Thunderbirds who scored four goals and six assists for 10 points in five games.
