School’s out, sunshine is everywhere! It’s summer time! While most people– especially seniors in high school– don’t start applying for scholarships until the end of college apps season, I think it’s never too early to start applying to scholarships. If you’re looking into doing something productive this summer, take a break from that Netflix marathon and try applying to these amazing scholarships below. Who knows, maybe your random spurt of productivity will land you with a huge scholarship to aid in college!

Bruce Lee Foundation Scholarship

Award: $1,000

Deadline: June 12

Description: For students 16+ who demonstrate Bruce Lee’s passion for education as well as his qualities of honest expression, forward thought, self-exploration, and assertiveness. Selection is also based on, but not limited to, involvement in extracurricular activities, community service, work experience, and knowledge of Bruce Lee.

A Song for Annabel Lee Contest

Award: $1,500

Deadline: June 15

Description: Open to all students 13+ in the U.S. and Canada; must submit video of recitation, rap, or singing of the first six verses of “Annabel Lee” by Edgar Allen Poe that demonstrates educational merit, accuracy, and creativity.

$5,000 Old School Impact Scholarship

Award: $5,000

Deadline: June 30

Description: Submit a photo completing a campaign and you’ll be entered to win a $5,000 scholarship. Every campaign you complete earns you another chance to win. No essay or minimum GPA required.

Tylenol Future Care Scholarship

Award: $500-$2,500

Deadline: June 30

Description: This program has helped promising individuals achieve academic excellence in medicine and healthcare and is open to students in the U.S. who are passionate about helping others.

Forum on Education Abroad Undergraduate Research Award

Award: Varies

Deadline: June 30

Description: Award is open to undergraduate students who have participated in a study abroad program. To be eligible for this award, you must be nominated by a Forum on Education Abroad delegate at a current institution. You must have completed a research project in any academic discipline that occurred as part of your education abroad experience.

$1,000 Bookoo Scholarship

Award: $1,000

Deadline: July 1

Description: Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors and students enrolled at an accredited college or university. You must submit an essay to qualify for this award.

VRG’s Vegetarian Video Scholarship

Award: $250

Deadline: July 15

Description: Create and submit a video relating what you want to tell others about vegetarianism and/or veganism. Some possible topics include food, nutrition, your feelings about veganism and/or vegetarianism, water usage and vegetarianism, vegetarianism and animal rights, or other vegetarian topics which appeal to you.

SweatBlock “Social Confidence” Scholarship

Award: $2,000

Deadline: July 15

Description: Scholarship available to any students of any degree-seeking category and must be a US citizen. Submit an essay between 500 and 1,000 words long and must fully answer one of three questions to be eligible for this award.

Gagne, Scherer and Associates Scholarship

Award: $1,200

Deadline: July 17

Description: Scholarship is available to students currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in the fall of 2015 at a college or university. You must submit a 500-1000 word essay on the following topic: “What is the most significant development in military law in the past two years?”

Doctor On Demand Scholarship

Award: $5,000

Deadline: July 31

Description: Scholarship is available to students enrolled in a pre-med or health-related field-of-study at a four year, accredited college or university. Submission includes a 500-600 word essay on the following topic: “Please remember a time where you knew for certain you wanted to enter a medical field. Was there a specific event that triggered this? Was it something you were always drawn to? Why have you chosen health services over any other career?”

Chuan Ai Lu Engstrom Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000

Deadline: August 1

Description: Scholarship is available to full-time students enrolled at an accredited university or college who submit an essay of no fewer than 800 words on the topic: “How you envision the global economy in the future.”

Free Speech Scholarship

Award: $1,000

Deadline: August 1

Description: Scholarship is available to students enrolled at an accredited technical school, college or university. You must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and submit a minimum 500-word essay on why “Freedom of Speech makes America great” to qualify for this award.

CollegeSTEPS Sweepstakes

Award: $1,000

Deadline: August 13

Description: Sweepstakes is open to high school and college students. To enter, you must enroll in the Wells Fargo CollegeSTEPS educational resource program.

Healthy Home Scholarship

Award: $1,000

Deadline: August 15

Description: Scholarship is available to high school, undergraduate and graduate students over the age of 16 who are enrolled at an accredited college or university. Applicants must have a minimum 2.75 GPA to qualify for this award, and must submit an essay and a brief 30-second summary of your essay via Instagram.

Clubs of America Scholarship Award

Award: $1,000

Deadline: August 31

Description: Award is available to currently enrolled students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants must submit an essay of at least 600 words about their career aspirations and current course load will help them achieve success. YouTube video submissions are also accepted and should be no longer than five minutes.

Asian Women in Business Scholarship

Award: $2,500 – $5,000

Deadline: September 15, 2014

Description: Must be women of at least 50% Asian or Pacific Islander ancestry; demonstrated a leadership role in a community endeavor and/or a record of entrepreneurial achievement; enrolled full-time in an accredited four-year undergraduate institution in the U.S. at the time of application and award; have a 3.0+ GPA

U.S. Bank Financial Genius Scholarship

Award: $5,000

Deadline: September 17

Description: Scholarship is available to high school seniors and college undergraduate students. Applicants must complete all modules listed and the scholarship application listed.

County Office Scholarship

Award: $1,000

Description: Applicants must submit a 500-1500 word essay on the following topic: “The most important local county office to me is…”

“Hit The Books” Scholarship

Award: $500

Deadline: September 30

Description: Scholarship is available to students between the ages of 18 and 25. Applicants must submit a maximum 500-word essay on the importance of education in your life and how the scholarship money will assist you in achieving your goals. Bonus points will be awarded to students who find a creative way to include their passion for coffee within their essay without losing sight of the primary topic.

Odenza Marketing Group Scholarship

Description: Applicants must have a 2.5+ GPA and submit answers to the essay questions, which can be found on the application page, prior to the September 30th, 2015 deadline.
