Full Moon with a total Lunar Eclipse is Tuesday, April 15 at 1:42 AM MDT (Mountain Daylight Time)
This is the first eclipse that initiates a time frame of the greatest intensity. It is a time to evaluate what you are here for and whether or not you can gather up and use all that you have learned and studied and experienced in this life, taking it and stepping up into your responsibility to move forward and to evolve. There will be a lot of complaining about how hard it is and how unprepared we are for this great task, but in the end, you are all you have; your talents, your wisdom, your commitment and your willingness to do the work. Turn the intensity of this time into something inspiring as you face the unknown, and be in gratitude.
You hold a huge amount of energy in your hands. It is up to you where you channel it. Into fear, doubt and negativity? Or into joy, inspiration and excitement for what the future may bring. Intensity can be productive, focused and extremely fulfilling if channeled into the right things. Don’t get distracted by other people’s dramas and negativity. Be inspired, grateful and full of awe!

Full Moon Libra Lunar Eclipse ~ 25º

It’s an exciting, powerful time! Three major astrological factors are coming together at once:
1- We have a Full Moon on the Aries/Libra axis
2- We have an eclipse package. First with a total eclipse of the Moon visible across North America. See global map: http://www.mreclipse.com/LEdata/TLE2014Apr15/image/TLE2014Apr15-map1a.gif Then two weeks later, we have an annular eclipse of the Sun only visible in parts of Australia
3- We have the most powerful exact square of Uranus and Pluto expanded into a Grand Square within that eclipse window.
With this Moon we look closely at issues of identity/partnership – Aries/Libra. Who am I? In my body, my projected image, in my inner Self, in my life quest? Contrasting with how do I partner? How do I cooperate and form relationship with others? With the Full Moon coupled so closely with the North Node, we feel letting go of the ‘I must do it alone’ attitude needs some serious upgrading to the truth that we can hold and work with so much more energy when we join with others. It’s where our cutting edge lessons lay for the next 18 months as North Node journeys through Libra to maximize our ability to see others as our selves and bring harmonious relationship into all we create. Look to your relationships and the needs and longings you have to be personally fulfilled as your teachers.
This Moon in Libra is closely aligned with Ceres (exactly) and Vesta fully illuminating our relationship to our Mother planet and the gifts of nourishment and support she provides and reminding us to hold these feminine manifestations as sacred. This is a major theme of the eclipse/Full Moon not to be taken lightly.
The mysterious disappearance of the Korean Airliner over the waters has called attention to the sorry state of our oceans. Venus the ruler of this Libra Moon chart is taking a critical and unappeased stance toward the Moon. Flanked by Neptune and Chiron, all in Pisces, Venus with hands on hips is demanding attention for this vital, living part of our planet. How our cetacean brothers and sisters fare (whales and dolphins), so fares the rest of the planet. If she’s not concerned about the oceans, then it might be our prison systems, or any other areas where we lack compassionate action for suffering. Tapping into our spiritual connections will help us avoid and balance the chaos and fear that can come from those around us when they lack an anchoring relationship to truth, love and power.
When we experience an eclipse, it is an opportunity for reset. A portal of alignment is created where new influence can take precedence over the old. The weeks surrounding an eclipse pair contains intensified energy even without an added Grand Cross and will bring to the surface issues that have been long in the shadows especially in those areas where the eclipse falls in your personal chart. The parts of our psyche that can’t resonate with this higher frequency energy will come up for us to be surrendered. New energies needing to be expressed at the new frequencies will also be bombarding our consciousness for manifestation.
Let’s move on to the real power squeeze of the last half of April, the Grand Cross or Square in cardinal signs. This takes place over several days – from Sunday, April 20- Wed, April 23. Uranus and Pluto, both transpersonal planets, affecting us collectively and personally have been in a square (90º) relationship since 2012. This April 21st is the fifth of seven exact squares and the only one with this powerful Grand Cross. Jupiter in Cancer is stepping up to oppose Pluto in Capricorn (and has been doing so since last summer) and Mars in Libra is moving into position to oppose Uranus in Aries all at 13º of the cardinal signs.
Grand Squares have geometrically more tension as they hold four exact squares as well as two oppositions. Oppositions signal awareness – holding the paradox and irony of a situation. Squares signal crisis, problem solving.
Cardinal signs are the signs that BEGIN each new season; they are the initiating signs, they set things in motion, radiate energy forward and outward, and can get way over stimulated moving in too many directions at once. If you have planets in these cardinal signs near 13º, you will be a vehicle for manifesting these powerfully focused energies through your life. You will need to strengthen the container of your energy field, eliminate energy leaks and be aware that you are being flooded with more energy than you may have ever held before. This energy and pressure has been palpable since the New Moon. It will blow through any veins of weakness encouraging the ego to wallow in victimhood, arrogance, depression, stubbornness, fear, helplessness, etc., and it can take you to incredible heights of higher-centered joy, gratitude, creativity, inspiration and connectedness. We all have a choice point here, a major choice point, as to how we want to manifest this huge gift. Actively choose the highest vibration you can in every moment!
This Grand Cross heavily impacts the natal chart of the United States of America of July 4 1776. It’s a direct hit! With our Sun at 13º Cancer (the degree Jupiter will be occupying) and our country’s Saturn at 14º Libra (where Mars will be sitting) that aspect of our national psyche has been feeling the pressure of this collective energy. I love how well known astrologer, Bill Herbst, writes about this on his website at www.billherbst.com I suggest you check it out. (“Uranus-Pluto and the USA chart”, 2013)
He characterizes the Sun square Saturn in the USA chart as a split in our national character. On one hand feeling we stand for ‘social justice and equal opportunity’ where anyone can fulfill their dream of becoming educated, wealthy or President, and at the same time we hold high in our values aggressive ambition, amassing huge personal wealth, and an attitude of every man for himself. We may have to look deeply into our responsibility vs. freedom contradiction as the Grand Cross erodes our illusion of security, and we face the economic, political, and social realities that will demand major change and transformation.
If you are feeling personally overwhelmed at some level by this up-welling of pressure and energy characterized by the Grand Cross/Eclipse event use this advice from river rafting: If you find yourself in a raging, whitewater river whirlpool eddy (of reactivity), don’t try to fight it, there’s nothing to grab onto, it’s not real, it’s not what it seems. Trust and Surrender are called for; let yourself be pulled downward (into the awareness of your biggest fear). You will hit the bottom (of this illusion) and you’ll catch some downstream current and it will pull you out of your hole and release you into the river (of life).
Since recorded time, acknowledgement, ceremony, offerings and rituals have been associated with honoring the event of this powerful eclipse relationship of the Sun, Moon and Earth. This is the time to put your gratitude forth for all the many blessings in your life and to clearly speak aloud your intentions and desires to be heard by Great Spirit as we step across this edge to the other side.
