The victim was consoled by a group of NGOs working in the field of differently-abled persons on Tuesday at her residence.

According to the victim, she was raped by her brother-in-law Laishram Joykumar, 41 son of Tomba on October 11 during day time while taking advantage of the solitude when her parents were out for work. Joykumar also threatened to kill her if the matter was revealed to anyone, the victim stated.

However, on October 12 evening around 6pm, the girl broke her silence and revealed the truth. Immediately, family members called Joykumar before the girl and she was frightened to see him and yelled that the man had raped her and became unconscious.

On the same day, the victim was taken to JNIMS for medical examination but she was further referred to RIMS.

Family members also told the media team that Joykumar was found missing when they returned from the hospital on the same night and accordingly an FIR was lodged at Heingang Police Station.
