From John Cage to Philip Glass, composers were touched by the Pop aesthetic of the 1960s.  Experience Cage’s iconic 4’33”, as well as other, more conventional masterworks in this performance by piano duo Gastesi Bezerra.

The RAW Symposium: Motherhood and Contemporary Art

The Norton Museum of Art presents The RAW Symposium in honor of artists such as Jenny Saville, Sylvia Plimack Mangold, and Phyllida Barlow who have achieved artistic acclaim while raising families, and who the Norton has celebrated with Recognition of Art by Women (RAW) exhibitions.

Perhaps no artist is as influential, or as representative of the 1960s, as Andy Warhol.  His paintings, sculpture, and films, as well as his legacy, continue to impact artists long after his untimely death in 1987.  This class, featuring gallery talks and contextual PowerPoint talks, looks back to the heyday of Warhol’s Factory, and to other contemporary approaches to art that continue to resonate today. 2 C U Create / Bling Bling
SATURDAYS, MARCH 15, 22, 29 / 10:30 AM - 12;30 PM 

Using quality materials and tools, participants will learn to fabricate jewelry using techniques such as sawing, drilling, filing, forming, and polishing metals. Your own sense of design will be inspired by viewing the special exhibition, David Webb: Society’s Jeweler, as well as works from the Museum Collection.

Ages 10-14 / Members $90; Non-members $110.
