KARACHI: The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) on Tuesday has rejected the warning issued by the Ministry of Water and Power and termed it as ‘baseless’ allegations to defame the organisation.

Spokesperson of KESC told the media that the electric supply organisation has not done any regulatory violation as claimed by the state minister.

“Statements of the state minister are contrary to facts and inflammatory”, the spokesperson said.

The official completely rejected that his organisation is involved in electricity theft or receiving more than 650 megawatts which was mentioned in the contract between Pakistan’s federal government and KESC.

He said that the minister’s statements are damaging the reputation of the organisation.

Earlier on October 4, Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali warned the company for supply disconnection if the power utility took even a single megawatt in excess of the allowed electricity of 650 mw.
