After a HUGE media blitz last month with their “Anniversary” box, Loot Crate has really taken a step back to get their heads on straight with this month’s “Rewind” theme. Hardly a spoiler to be found, no super big hints or excess hype… this is the way it should be! Let’s take a look inside:
.
.
What a surprise am I right?? So let’s take a closer look!
Black Tie Geek Space Invaders Tie
Give me a pair of geeky socks and I instantly hate them, give me a geeky tie and this is the GREATEST ITEM EVER! I will admit this isn’t for everyone, one YouTuber pointed out that fat guys can’t wear skinny ties it looks funny lol. Me, however, I cant get enough ties! I have to wear one every day so I have about 15 or so in a rotation so my look stays fresh lol. I hope that in the future I will get another although highly doubtful because other people are bitching. FYI as of this posting The Black Tie Geek site is not live yet and it seems they used Loot Crate to launch themselves into the spotlight.
I have no idea how much they will sell for but I will estimate it at $15
Voltron Blueprint Shirt
The one spoiler they did release was that there would be a Voltron item inside. I am a HUGE Voltron fan so I was very excited over this news but knew better than to get my hopes up… that being said I was blown away! This shirt is awesome! The design is simple but it works. It is a Loot Crate exclusive item which is printed right on the shirt itself. That way there is no question when you spot a fellow “Looter” that they did, in fact, get the shirt from the box.
I always value t-shirts at $10
10-DOH! Loot Crate Exclusive Figure
Out of all the characters out there naturally I get the Dr WHO one which is the only one I don’t like. I would trade him for another since he is popular but it’s not worth the trouble for me. The 10-DOH figures themselves are pretty cool though. I like him for sure and will definitely have him hang out with my retro gaming set up. One of these days I’m going to force myself to watch Doctor Who until I become a fan lol.
10-DOHs sell for $10 although these specific designs are a Loot Crate exclusive
Comic Note Book
A simple, yet effective way to make your own comics! Back in the day I used to have to draw my own lines on the paper to divide up the cells and now look how far we have come am I right? My comic drawing days are over so I am going to pass the torch on to one of my kids to fill this book with action and adventure.
I couldn’t find this exact book but they average about $10
Star Wars Comic With Loot Crate Exclusive Cover
Again, I am not a comic book collector so the exclusiveness of a cover doesn’t mean much to me. However, the fact that I am “The Nerf Herder” and this comic has Han and Chewie on the cover makes it AWESOME! I gave in and cracked the packaging open to read it, the artwork is incredible and I only wish somehow I could frame some of them on my wall! I always like getting a comic here and there in my sub boxes it keeps things fresh and interesting.
The normal cover version sells for $5 (although someone is trying to sell this one for $90 on ebay lol)
Pixel Glasses and Filler
The glasses are a nice sturdy plastic with UV lenses. I have another pair from another box that aren’t nearly this nice. For some reason I got 3 pins this month, I’ve check other unboxings and it seems to be a mistake lol. The Loot Crate box flips around to make a NES-like box complete with papercraft controller in the back of this months Rewind magazine.
The glasses are a LC exclusive but given the high quality I would compare them to other $10 versions on the market
And that is why I keep my subscription to Loot Crate! This box was great! It’s an estimated $60 value for $20 shipped which doesn’t always mean anything but in this case I am pretty impressed! No word on next month’s theme as of yet but I kinda like it that way. Loot Crate always seems to do better when they sneak in under the radar. If you want to try Loot Crate for yourself you can visit their website here which bags you and me both a great discount on their next box!
