The latest DMMA report by Effective Measure (July 2013) indicates that The Hub is ranked sixth based on Average Page Views per visit (APV) and an impressive third based on Average Visit Duration (AVD). These high levels of engagement are excellent news for advertisers sa’s Habari Media MD, Wayne Bischoff. ‘The proliferation of online publishers and social networks has meant that it is increasingly important for publishers to promote engagement by offering a compelling editorial proposition. The Hub offers marketers exactly this.”

Mangaung Metro Municipality official headline sponsor of OFM Classic

Central South Africa’s biggest cycling event continues to be the pride of the Free State with the capital once again hosting the annual race – this time with new partners OFM and the Mangaung Metro Municipality.

With an anticipated 4 500 cyclists sweeping through the streets of Bloemfontein on 2 – 3 November 2013, the 13th edition of this epic race, now deemed the Mangaung OFM Classic in partnership with Free State Government, sees the start of a three year partnership between these entities.

“We see this partnership as a conduit towards realising some of our goals, particularly around social cohesion, but also in popularising cycling as one of the sporting codes that must be promoted amongst our youth,” said Mangaung Metro Executive Mayor Thabo Manyoni.

The partnership is also going to reposition Mangaung as one of the brands to be reckoned with.

OFM’s CEO Gary Stroebel says that “we are excited to welcome Mangaung Metro as the new title sponsor of the OFM Classic. It is a natural partnership as both organisations benefit tremendously from such an event”.

Another feather in the cap of Classicfeel editor

Editor in chief and publisher of Classicfeel Magazine, Lore Watterson, cemented her place amongst the top South African women in the arts when she awarded the Mbokodo Award for Promotion of Arts in the Media, which she won over several other notable nominees. ‘

The Mbokodo Awards recognise the contribution the women of South Africa continue to make in the arts, culture and heritage sector. Women have long been at the forefront of our arts and culture and heritage landscape but somehow when accolades are considered it is mostly males who are recipients. This year, as before, we have many examples of excellence in the different executions of art by the women of South Africa and it is encouraging to see some of these names being nominated for the Mbokodo Awards. We are encouraged also by the peaked interest in the fields of arts, culture and heritage that we have seen as a nation in the recent past,” said Paul Mashatile, Minister of Arts and Culture.
