Bill Wilson has worked as a portrait painter, gallery artist, jewelry maker and illustrator for over 20 years.
His portraits and gallery work are in both corporate and private collections all over the country and include
six supreme court justices. Additionally, he has created storyboard and design work for the film and theatre
industry. He is also a respected art juror and lecturer. Bill has written and illustrated two children’s books,
The Fib: A Wordy Tale and Dorf’s Art Lesson. These books are based on the characters from his web comic
Pippin & Maxx now in its eight year. He is currently working on his third book, The Road To Lapprolee.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Belhaven University. His portrait art is represented by Portraits
Inc., Portraits Source, and Portraits South, and his gallery works by Brown’s Fine Art and The Art Agency in
Jackson, MS, Littlehouse Galleries in Homewood, AL, and Cheryl Campbell Ltd., in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He is listed as a lecturer for the Humanities Council and is listed in the Artists Roster for the Mississippi Arts
Commission. In 2007 he was named a fellow of the Mississippi Arts Commission. His memberships include
the Portrait Society of America, SCBWI (the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators), Southern Breeze
(Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators), MS Alliance for Art Education, and the Storyweavers Guild.
He also oversees the visual aspects of Pippin & Maxx Arts and Entertainment as Creative Director and is the
assistant editor of Mississippi Aesthetic Magazine.
