At 11:14pm January 20th (AEST) we see the first new moon of 2015 – our first chance to plant seeds, set intentions and co-create the future with the moon’s powerful feminine energy. We’ve shared many articles on honouring and harnessing the energy of the lunar cycle here and here.
As I wrote last week, before we can freely move forward we must ensure we are free from the past. My new eBook, A Guide To Letting Go, together with our Letting Go Kit helps step you through this process. Over the last few months of 2014, I focused on letting go, finalising in the first few weeks of January. I am ready.
In A Guide To Letting Go, I share my process for both closing and birthing ceremonies. It feels like I’ve been preparing this new moon birthing ceremony since the turn of the New Year… I’ve slowly been adding to an altar; I’ve been meditating on how I wish to feel; I’ve been adding to my vision board.
I wish for all of this to culminate in an offering when the moon is at it’s newest this week.
Creating an altar
My altar has been taking shape since the start of the year. As this new moon draws closer, I’m adding intentional items and charging up my crystals to add potency to the altar. I am making offerings, practicing prayer.
This new moon presents a chance for me to take my big intentions for the year and break them down into lunar-cycle-size intentions. That’s to say, this new moon gives an opportunity to take your big soul-goal sand zoom in on them for the next month.
My Core Desired Feelings
I create Core Desired Feelings for the year (off the back of Danielle LaPorte’s fabulous work). My 2015 Core Desired Feelings are:
Powerful – truth, self expressions, offering my greatness, playing big
Sacred – devotion, dedication, deliberate, meaningful offerings
Union – merging parts to create a whole, light and dark, acceptance and vulnerability
Expansive – growth, abundance, joy, alignment, beyond perceived limits
These are on my altar. They are infused with my energy – and vice versa. I’ve meditated on them – and come the new moon, they will be the central focus of my New Moon Manifesting guided meditation practice.
A final note on this new moon
We are in the throes of Mercury Retrograde (which I touched on in this week’s energy reading sent exclusively to subscribers – sign up here to get yours). As you set your new moon intentions, be open to what comes next – it may just surprise you.
The nature of the lunar cycle says we will have illumination on what we must let go by the full moon – but throw Mercury in the mix, and we may face a state of flux for the next cycle or two. Stay the course. Trust the process.
Many new moon blessings!
