Yesterday, at 9.09am, the moon’s fullest point, my sister and I sat down to perform the closing ceremony from Helen’s latest eBook, A Guide to Letting Go eBook. We’d arrived the night before at our family beach house, just the two of us, for a week of restoring and reflecting, the ceremony was a good start.

Our altar held each of our crystal collections, bathed under the light of the full moon overnight, as well as beeswax candles, dried flowers, found feathers, incense and sacred palo santo wood, and our intentions to let go of course.

We opened the ceremony, lit our candles and alternated between journaling and meditating on what we were being called to release, what we would each let go of. We listened to the Cutting Energy Cords meditation seated side-by-side and saw new revelations around what we were releasing and why.

We noted down our final impressions in our journals, followed by a turn each at Oracle Card pulling. Both sets of cards gave us guidance for our next steps forward (I pulled out Balance, Third Eye Chakras and Self Love – which I took to mean that I should seek balance, clear my third eye chakra to strength my clairvoyance (clear seeing) and look after myself a bit better to move forward).

We drank tea and cleared the space, then walked down to the beach, on what was a rather cyclonic, windy, atmospheric day and cleansed ourselves in the wild and foamy waters of the ocean.

In the lead up to this full moon, I’d been faced with a few challenging situations consuming my thoughts and even actions. As the date of this month’s full moon approached, these difficult situations started to bother me less and less, I think because I started to understand the lessons behind them, healing old thoughts, behaviours, emotions I’d attached to the situations. So yesterday I came to more fully understand a few important lessons for me, letting go and moving on.
