SANTA ANA, CA — On the heels of securing critical endorsements from the California Democratic Party and various labor groups, today, former State Senator Lou Correa received the official support of his former legislative colleague and neighbor, State Senator Joe Dunn (Ret.), in his campaign to represent California’s 46th Congressional District.

Upon announcing his endorsement, former State Senator Joe Dunn released the following statement:

“I commend Lou’s dedication to serving his community and improving the lives of all Orange County residents. Over the years, Lou and I have worked to serve the needs of Orange County. We have fought to improve schools, expand middle class opportunities for working families, create more good paying jobs, and invest in gang prevention and after-school programs for our youth.  Although we do not always agree with on how to ‘get there,’ I know Lou will fight for the people of the 46th Congressional District in Washington.”

Upon hearing the news, former State Senator Lou Correa responded:

“Joe’s commitment to and long history of serving Orange County residents is an inspiration.  I have always admired his dedication to delivering real results to his constituents and moving California forward. His endorsement means a lot to me, and I look forward to working with him to address the needs of Orange County.”

In the June 7th Primary Election, former Senator Correa was the top vote getter, capturing over 40,000 votes and 43.6% of the total votes cast.
