SANTA ANA, CA — Continuing to forge ahead in his race for California’s 46th Congressional District, former State Senator Lou Correa earned the endorsement of the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association and it’s 7,000 public safety professionals. The endorsement comes amid an impressive groundswell of support from elected officials and statewide organizations alike, including endorsements from Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva, Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer, and the Orange County Labor Federation.

In a letter to the Lou Correa for Congress campaign, the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association said the following regarding their endorsement:

“ Your commitment to serve the State of California, and the emphasis and concern you expressed with issues related to public safety and law enforcement, made this an easy decision. Your continued dedication and commitment to safety through the Operation Kid Prints program, which has helped to fingerprint over 50,000 Orange County children, has gone a long way to protect our communities. For these reasons, CSLEA looks forward to having a great working partnership with you in the years ahead.”

Upon learning of the endorsement, former State Senator Lou Correa remarked:

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA). I appreciate the support of such a diverse group of public safety officers who work hard and risk their lives to keep our neighborhoods and our families safe. As a California State Senator, I prioritized public safety services and safety programs for children and I will continue to do so in Congress.”

Former Senator Correa won sweeping support in the June 7th Primary Election, capturing over 40,880 votes and 43.7% of total votes cast. With a triumphant finish, Correa pulled ahead with three times as many votes as the second place finisher.
