Spirit of TIKI

A brand new two-day summer party celebrating the true essence of Tiki Culture is coming to the heart of London on August 14th and 15th. Created in conjunction with Mahiki London, the enormous outdoor beach will be surrounded by a village of 15 Tiki bars – each showcasing their own signature cocktails, available for just £5. Expect brands such as Bacardi and Mount Gay, as well as plenty BBQ food and entertainment from hula dancers and fire breathers will be on Beach 338 at Greenwich. The Floating Gaardens

Nope that wasn’t a typo, this is the Floating Gaardens, set up by Hoegaarden this August. The pop-up garden is moored outside Number 90, Hackney Wick with over 500 different plants and shrubs and has been scientifically designed by local Hackney-based artist Nathaneal Williams in collaboration with Oxford University. Open for the next four weeks until 21st August, ‘The Floating Gaardens’ will be open from Wednesdays to Fridays at Number 90. It will also set sail every weekend along East London’s waterways up to six times daily. Tickets are now available to be booked through a draw-style system at www.floatinggaardens.co.uk.



Spotlight at Seven Dials

Spotlight the free, one-day music, art and comedy festival is returning to Seven Dials on Saturday 13th August from 12-7pm.  Seven Dials will be traffic-free, to enable shoppers to enjoy the free performances and exclusive activities and promotions. On-street activities will include; live portraits, flower crown making, an airstream photobooth, giant Seven Dials letters, a summer lawn and deck chairs, crazy golf, a pop-up tea garden and free Prosecco. The open-air stage will open with an exclusive show piece from legendary West End show Motown the Musical and many more exciting acts throughout the day. Bloomberg Summer at The Roundhouse

Bloomberg Summer at The Roundhouse returns for its fifth consecutive year from the 6th-29th August. The season is renowned for introducing new audiences to innovative culture and this year, which celebrates the Roundhouse’s 50th anniversary, will be no exception. Internationally acclaimed artist Ron Arad presents his 360° immersive installation ‘Curtain Call’, which will see the Roundhouse’s main space filled up with a curtain made up of 600 silicon rods that are suspended from an 18 metre diameter ring.

Alongside this, there are a series of unique and one-off music events lined up that will be performed in the centre of the ‘curtain’. The exciting and eclectic line-up includes: Matthew Herbert, Eska, BBC Proms with London Sinfonietta, Gaika, Dan Deacon & London Contemporary Orchestra. Olympics Live Screenings

You won’t be able to miss the Rio Olympics this month. Between Friday 5th August and Sunday 21st August head to the lawn area at Merchant Square in Paddington to watch the Rio 2016 Olympics on the big screen. From wrestling to long jump and everything in-between, catch your favourite sports at lunchtime or stay after work to enjoy a drink and watch all the action.
