Hartford’s WCCC 106.9 has done a complete 180, as the rumors that the station known for playing hard and classic rock has been sold to a Christian radio company were confirmed last week on the Hartford Courant blog Java. The Educational Media Company, based in California, bought the station from Marlin Broadcasting. The station has switched to a contemporary Christian music format. Many people were sad to say good bye to the old station, and former employee Howard Stern returned to reminisce about the station where he got his start.
