We are looking for a modern and progressive marketing assistant to join our dedicated team. A certain level of autonomy is granted in this role, but client wishes must be adhered to at all times. Salary: Competitive plus benefits

Reporting to: Marketing Account Manager

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week. Usual working hours are 8.30am – 5.00pm,

Monday to Friday. There will be a requirement from time to time to start

work earlier or finish later as the role dictates.

Duties and Responsibilities

All duties are described both for in-house activities and external clients:

1. Marketing campaigns and database management

• Identify companies within different target markets as agreed with the Marketing Account Manager and perform market research as required

• Co-ordinate weekly direct mail initiatives (planning, mail merge and individual letters, printing, checking, signing and packaging)

• Draft new letters as required in conjunction with the Marketing Account Manager

• Work closely with our clients to schedule calls, confirm appointments, report back on quotations made and outcomes

• Keep the marketing database up-to-date, importing new data, updating records and performing the necessary cross checks

• Prepare partner briefing packs prior to prospect appointments

• Prepare marketing statistics Electronic and digital filing as required

2. Events and hosted networking

• Prepare materials for planning meetings, take minutes as required

• Contribute to the project plan and preparation of checklists

• Research audiences as agreed with the Marketing Manager

• Research venues and catering, supplier liaison as required

• Internal communication and diary co-ordination

• Partner and speaker liaison as appropriate and in conjunction with the Marketing Manager

• Draft invitation copy and liaise with the graphic designer to ensure quality work delivered on time and to budget

• Co-ordinate the distribution of invitations, monitor responses, manage follow ups and manage cancellations

• Prepare supporting materials (literature packs, promotional merchandise, delegate lists, name badges, place names, table plans etc)

• Event set up and clear down

• Prepare safety information for speaker and staff

• Greet and manage delegates

• Networking as appropriate

• Co-ordinate follow up activity, monitor referrals, actions, work won

• Measure and report outcomes

3. Internet and Email Marketing

• Manage email distribution list including new subscriptions, opt-outs and bounce backs

• Assist in monitoring the market for developments of significance

• Edit and / or draft articles for blog articles and electronic newsletters

• Upload articles to the website, add the necessary links, images and optimise the posts

• Compose marketing emails ensuring the correct formatting is in place

• Distribute marketing emails to selected target market

• Monitor website analytics and report back as required

• Draft copy for the website, ensure changes are made in an accurate and timely manner

• Provide assistance in developing internet presence, improving search rankings, adhere to our social media strategy and improving visibility.

4. Social media marketing

• Work closely with team members to ensure social media strategies are successfully adhered to

• Draft social media marketing messages

• Contribute campaign ideas based upon identified target market

• Implementation of new social accounts, branding and best practices

• Liaise with clients and team members to build engagement

• Sustainable follower growth and cultivation

• Draft social media strategies to include identifying target

• Management, monitoring and reporting of social media activities

• Open and operate ‘professional’ social media accounts in order to network and facilitate account management of company pages

5. Literature and stationery

• Contribute ideas for new campaigns and supporting literature

• Draft copy and design ideas for new literature in conjunction with the Marketing Manager

• Liaise with clients as required

• Proof reading

• Collate suitable imagery and create a photographer’s or graphic designers brief where bespoke imagery is required

• Prepare literature packs as required, primarily for prospect meetings and distribution at events

• Prepare distribution lists, plan and manage the distribution process as appropriate

6. Public Relations

• Help identify and research suitable client and internal stories

• Prepare agency briefs and / or draft press releases as required

• Support the Marketing Manager in liaising with clients, co-ordinating diaries for photo shoots and interviews and source props as required

• Monitor and record printed and online press coverage for The Last Hurdle Ltd and clients and prospective clients

• Distribute press items of note to interested parties

• Research suitable media outlets, editors and presenters as required (e.g. printed and online press, social media, trade press, TV and radio)

7. Internal communications

• Collate internal news stories from staff and franchisees and draft the quarterly internal newsletter

• Prepare marketing statistics and information on referrals, introductions, networking activity, events, press releases and new clients

• Work with the Marketing Manager to agree content and check accuracy of the internal newsletter, before distributing

• Contribute to the on-going development and monitoring of internal relations and brand management

8. Marketing audit and strategy

• Perform market, competitor and internal research as agreed with the marketing manager

• Collate data and prepare marketing statistics throughout the year

• Contribute ideas and suggest new initiatives or areas of improvement

• Prepare supporting materials as requested

9. Marketing processes and standards

• Comply with marketing standards and follow set processes for routine work

• Assist with the development of marketing processes over time

• Contribute ideas for improving marketing standards and processes

10. Miscellaneous administrative duties

• Prepare and distribute supporting materials for management and ad-hoc meetings

• Prepare literature packs and bound copies of marketing materials and proposals as required

• Company research as required for clients

• Liaise with caterers/purchase and prepare lunches for networking, client or internal meetings; clear the crockery afterwards and ensure the office is left clean and tidy

• Ad hoc duties as required
