Nick Cave just released one of the most powerful records of his career – Skeleton Tree, a stunning meditation on grief and mortality colored by the death of his son during the recording process. Now, Cave announced a 2016 tour with his longtime band The Bad Seeds on tour in support of the album (not to mention his vast back-catalog); he and his band come to Philadelphia to headline the Electric Factory on Monday, June 5th.
Cave previously played the Factory on the Dig, Lazarus, Dig tour, and headlined the Keswick and Mann Center in support of Push the Sky Away. His return to the Factory goes on sale this Friday, October 28th, at 10 a.m. More information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar. The release of Skeleton Tree was preceded by the intensely haunting documentary One More Time With Feeling, which screened for one night at a packed Ritz Five house on September 8th. The filmmakers recently announced a return engagement, which happens December 1st at both the Ritz Five and the Reading Manville 12 cinema. It’s one of the best pieces of musical filmmaking – or filmmaking in general – of the year, and we highly recommend you see it; more information can be found here.
