It is said that the Indian soul lives in villages. We are a developing country which is shaping its future from the soil of villages. Narendra Modi is familiar with that nerve of India, If you want to grow, you have to embrace its soul. With a population of 125 crore agriculture must be upgraded to meet the growing demand. Jobs have to be created for the rural people. As a CM, he solved many problems of the farmers. Now as a PM, he is occupied with Gramin Vikash and eager to significantly develop our villages.

His positive image helps to catch the attention of the industrialists and investors. He wants the villagers to lead a better life. Modi started many schemes for rural development:

Swachh Gram Swastha Yojana/Nirmal Gram Yojana or Clean Villages Scheme

Everybody is aware that a house in village lacks proper toilet. Modi launched Swachh Gram Swastha Yojana (Clean and Healthy Villages Scheme), sanitation and hygiene have been emphasized. He offered financial rewards for best performance. The Modi Government solved this issue with the help of Nirmal Gram Yojana or Clean Villages Scheme. The Gujarat government of Narendra Modi had set up 400000 toilets between 2002 and 2012. The state boasts 4000 Nirmal villages. Narendra Modi dreamed of a green environment in the villages. He wanted the villages to be clean. Tree plantation was created in Panchvati Yojana. Fallow lands were identified for plantation. Narendra Modi’s plans helped develop beautifully in the villages and also improvement of rural health.

Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana(SAGY)

On Independence Day he came up with this vibrant idea of refurbishing of 638,596 villages from 640 districts. This is a huge number for any government to take amelioration on. SAGY targets 3 Adarsh gram (Ideal villages) through adopting one village by every MP/MLA to reconstruct and reform it by 2016 and 3 villages by 2019. He is concerned about that program for long term as he asked MP/MLA’s to adopt 5 villages by 2024.

What this project is all about? As we are aware that India lives in villages, although elopement is taking up at higher rates for desire of better lifestyle and opportunities. So where are the loopholes?

“Saansad Aadarsh Gram Yojna” has basic issues such as education, health, electricity, water supply.cleanliness, poverty, sanitation, infrastructural development, strengthening gram Panchayats, living standards, economic balance, etc. Villages are lacking the basic amenities without which we cannot imagine our daily lives so that is the highest issue for government to take up.

SAGY believes in the involvement of every resident of villages and seeks their active participation to make their place an ideal place to live. Narendra Modi, a founder of concept “Good Governance” also emphasize for good governance in villages with the support of Gram Panchayats and Gram Sabhas. SAGY ensures that every school must have all the necessary tools for the best education, such as libraries, computers, smart schools, green schools and toilets in every school.

Agriculture is the heart line of villages and by increasing the productivity we eventually would be catching the right nerve of development. The Government is focused on implementing high end techniques, general awareness of available resources to increase fertility and monitoring the increment of productivity so the yield increases and the standard living in villages gets better.

Funds for all these reforms will be patronized by government itself (central and state finance commissions) who issues budget for gram panchayats to taking care of basic amenities of every village. For improving performance of villages there would be a performance reward which would be consisting best practices, best charge officers, best district collectors and best Adarsh grams.

Sardar Patel Awaas Yojana

Sardar patel Awaas Yojana is a Gujarat government scheme for landless labourers and artisans. Those living below the poverty line were given lands. This is a great scheme and highly benefiting the BPL families. We wish to see such projects in other states of India with the initiative of Narendra Modi.

E-Gram Vishwa Gram Yojana

The government used technology for the administration of rural areas. This is a plan under E-Gram Vishwa Gram Yojana. Broadband internet connections have been provided in the gram panchayat of Gujarat. These centers play a crucial role in issuing birth/death certificates, caste certificates, proof of income and residence proof. Narendra Modi increased the special allowance of Gram Panchayats. He raised it 9 times, i.e. from Rs. 100 to Rs. 900 per month for the gram panchayat mantris (village panchayat ministers). As a chief minister, he addressed on September 30, 2012 at the Panchayati Raj Convention. Rs.100 will be given for maintaining accounts and conveyance allowance will also be given to the ministers of sub-districts.

Gram Swagat Programme was launched by the government of Gujarat. Now the villagers can lodge a complaint at the center of E-Gram. The approved claims were taken up by the government executive. It works at the sub-district level. These officials are known as taluka mamlatdar.

Garib Kalyan Mela and Krishi Mahotsav

Narendra Modi government organized Garib Kalyan Mela and Krishi Mahotsav for the welfare of the farmers. He wanted the uplift of the farmers. We are proud to know that 1000 Garib Kalyan Melas have been organized by the Narendra Modi government and 85 lakh families got the benefit. The state government gave the financial benefit of Rs. 12,500 crore to the villagers.

E-Mamta

Narendra Modi launched “E-Mamta”. This is a technology using a mobile phone. It was started by the government in Gujarat on May 2010. Rural health workers were engaged in survey work. They went from door to door for collecting information on infants as well as pregnant women. This is a project under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). The Mobile phone is used to send the information to the State Rural Health Mission. SMS was used to transmit data to health workers in rural area. They are aware of the immunization dates and medicines required for the mothers and their children. This awareness program decreased deaths of mother from 702 to 589. The infant deaths decreased from 7263 to 4732. In this way, our Prime Minister will effectively chalk out a plan for mother and child death for our country.

Narendra Modi is sure about his ideas and their preciseness towards the growth. Man of action himself works for hours to set an example for others. Narendra Modi has announced this for MP’s/MLA’S of each constituency, but this project has also appealed to the renowned people of our society who willingly want to contribute their part to build a better tomorrow. In addition of this project people who adopted villages are Narendra Modi himself, Soniya Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, V.K.Singh, Ahmed Patel, Sachin Tendulkar, Hema Malini etc., which is showing that this project is not for the ruling party only and when it comes for betterment we need to hold hands together.

All these rural projects will make Indians proud that we have a prime minister who had worked for the development of his state and is now serving our nation. We are quite optimistic of the future of our country
