Remuneration:
Proposed Cost to Company salary will be R30,000 per month.
Medical Aid as part of cost to company +16% Provident Fund (7% employee contribution and 9% as part of cost to company (Compulsory)
13th Cheque (at management discretion) 50% in May 50% in November
Purpose of the role:
Perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers. Source products, goods and services and manage vendors. Compile information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of equipment by performing the following duties.
Main Functions:
Establishing contributing and continually improving the procurement process cost effectively through an on‐line integrated procurement process and ensuring the correct and most economical method of shipping is used.
Through feedback processed measures effectiveness of operation customer feedback, out of stock situation, inventory purchase levels and timeous receipt of stock.
Ensuring our stock level is in line with company strategy and in conjunction with sales levels.
Establish and maintain vendor databases for approved sources of equipment and services.
Keeps back order file in established sequence and releases back orders for issue or shipment as stock becomes available.
Prepares requisitions, orders, or other documents for purchasing or requisitioning new or additional stock items.
Participates in supplier negotiations and develops supplier relationships.
Negotiate with suppliers for the lowest prices, best quality product and best service.
Ensures administrative systems are effective and maintained continually
Analysing and initiating change to the work unit, policies, procedures and practices.
Supervises staff members to provide direction and feedback and ensure assigned procurement projects and tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines.
Gathers and summarizes data to provide accurate information for reports, correspondence and proposals.
Prepare and distribute written communication to inform relevant departments of revision on products, pricing and availability of stock.
Prepare and coordinate the preparation of reports and analyses stock movements, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
Plans and conducts meetings with subordinates to ensure compliance with established practices, implement new policies and keep employees abreast of current changes and standards.
Analyses stock and movement and recommends remedial actions for reported non saleable, slow moving and excess stock.
Ensures accuracy of information on Syspro – quantity, costs, description, pricing, movement and history.
Approves all orders placed by buyers and ensures correctness of information given to suppliers.
Communicates with suppliers on forecasts, products, pricing, orders, queries and new developments.
Continuing sourcing alternate products with an increased cost and quality benefit.
Manages and ensures optimal stock levels of all products.
Coordinates forecasting, purchasing and shipping of all products.
Manages day‐to‐day procurement needs.
Keeps records of all purchasing documents, price lists and brochures.
Develops and maintains a prioritized list of suppliers.
Sources suppliers when needed.
Understands the export and import requirements.
Ensures Optimizer is managed and used to the optimal.
Counting of stock at stock take.
Capturing of stock at stock take.
Maintains ISO Compliance.
Requirements:
MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:
Matric Certificate
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration an advantage
Proven working experience as procurement supervisor
Excellent communication skills
Must be computer literate.
SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS REQUIRED:
Familiar with sourcing and vendor management
Negotiation and networking skills
Knowledge of Syspro and Optimizer a must
Solid judgement along with decision making skills
Ability to gather and analyse data and work with figures
Strong leadership capabilities
