Every week, Christine Marie Evans and Emily Cohen curate this list, carefully reviewing dozens of shows every night, to select the live stand up comedy shows you need check out. Toasty is a slightly dressy cocktail party/reception – no stage – and there’ll be 6 to 7 comedians (or group acts) doing short comedic toasts amongst the attendees. The comedians pick someone in the crowd to toast for a random/silly reason/occasion. In addition, the occasions/reasons can keep changing. The people receiving the toasts may also keep changing. There’ll be music on and off throughout the party/show, as well as drinks.

Joel McHale is one of the most sought after comedians and actors in the industry. McHale recently wrapped his twelfth and final season of E!’s The Soup in which he satirized pop culture and current events. He is also best known for his starring role on the hit comedy series Community, which wrapped its sixth season on Yahoo after five seasons on NBC. McHale can most recently be seen on Fox’s revival of The X-Files, where he plays a conservative news anchor. He also continues to perform his stand-up act around the country to sold-out audiences and his new show, The Great Indoors, aired October 27th on CBS. Joel released his new book, Thanks for the Money, on October 25th. Previously, McHale starred as Robin Williams’ son in A Merry Friggin’ Christmas and was seen in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced supernatural thriller Deliver Us From Evil.  He also appeared in the Warner Bros’ romantic comedy Blended alongside Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. His additional film credits include Seth MacFarlane’s comedy smash TED, What’s Your Number?, The Big Year, Spy Kids: All The Time in The World, and The Informant. Emmy nominated actor and comedian Billy Gardell starred in the CBS Hit television series, MIKE & MOLLY as Officer Mike Biggs from 2010-2016. MIKE & MOLLY continues to air in syndication to this day.

As a followup to the hit CBS series, Billy has taken a dramatic turn in the CMT series Million Dollar Quartet as Colonel Tom Parker, the infamous manager of Elvis Presley. The drama series was inspired by the Broadway musical.

In 2016 he received a Daytime Emmy nomination as Best Gameshow Host for Monopoly Millionaires Club.

Before Mike and Molly, Gardell co-starred in the critically acclaimed television series Lucky. His other television credits include Yes Dear and Judging Amy, on the Network, My Name is Earl, The Practice,Monk and Gary the Rat.

He made his major motion picture debut alongside Anthony Quinn and Sylvester Stallone in Avenging Angelo, and had a memorable scene with Billy Bob Thornton in the Cohen Brother’s film Bad Santa. He also appeared in You, Me & Dupree.

As a standup comic, Gardell took the long road to Hollywood, stopping at every small town lounge, military base and comedy club along the way. His comedy act took him to Los Angeles where his dedication to acting, along with touring as a stand-up comedian, allowed him to grow consistently in both arenas. His stand-up show is a powerhouse. His grounded, down-to-earth point of view strikes a strong chord with American audiences. Stories about his rough childhood, wild adolescence and new family life are executed with the skill of a master craftsman. His comedy specials, Billy Gardell: Halftime, premiered on Comedy Central and Billy Gardell Presents Road Dogs premiered on Showtime.
