Hey everyone!

Winters are all about glowing skin, and a highlighter can really come handy to fake that glow on most days. Afterall, how many of us have that naturally glowing complexion?! Let’s see if the Colorbar Radiant Glow Illuminator pen is helpful.

Price: Rs. 525 for 2.2 mL. Available: Online and in-stores

About Colorbar Radiant Glow Illuminator pen: Banish the dull and tired look forever with the Radiant Glow Face Illuminator. A one of a kind product in India, this face highlighter gives the complexion a vibrant and perky look. The Radiant Glow Face Illuminator enhances makeup and brightens the complexion, giving the face a natural glow.

Packaging: The Colorbar Radiant Glow Illuminator pen comes in a sleek mirror-finish silver pen style packaging, which has a brush-applicator attached for strategically applying the product to the face. The applicator is soft, and works well. The pen has a click-mechanism for dispensing the product.

My take on Colorbar Radiant Glow Illuminator pen: The product is a creamy highlighter, with a pale golden tint to it. It has pale gold pearlescent particles dispensed in the creamy formula, which impart a subtle glow to the skin. The good thing is that the particles are not gritty. And that’s where the party ends!

The moment you place the product on the skin, it tends to set, and doesn’t allow much time to blend. At least in my case. It looks patchy, and does not look pretty at all! This quick drying factor is also evident from the fact that the product dries up too soon on the applicator- if you leave any product on the brush and use it after a few days- boom! Click at least 200 times before you can dispense more product. Really tiring for someone like me who has Tennis Elbow. I had really given up on this one after one use, when one day it suddenly dispensed a little more product. By then, I had lost count of how many times I had clicked to dispense.

For the times when you are able to use the product successfully, it does impart a subtle glow. It is a shame that the consistency of the product does not allow frequent usage.

In the images below, the after-effect is hardly visible

PS: Colorbar Illuminator is NOT a dupe of the famous YSL Touche Eclat which comes in various shades for different skin tones, and is a brightening product, which is different from a highlighter. You can use a brightener on larger areas, like the forehead (above the brows), under the eyes, etc. but not a highlighter. Don’t go by the packaging!!!

Pros of Colorbar Radiant Glow Illuminator pen:

Subtle glow

Pale gold shade, universally flattering

Creamy base

Packaging looks nice

Cons of Colorbar Radiant Glow Illuminator pen:

Does not blend well at all!

Between two usages, the remaining product dries up on the brush. Brace up for lots of clicking the next time

Verdict: Officially, one of my most disappointing buys ever! I had really high hopes with this one! Not recommended! Use a powder highlighter instead! :\

Rating: 1/ 10 only for that subtle glow

And by the way girls, who all are excited about the Great Online Shopping Festival starting tomorrow? Check out some awesome GOSF deals at CupoNation. I’m really liking the coupons for Myntra etc. What are your plans? I think I’m going to get some electronics (really need a new power bank) and shoes (high heels on my list) this time, since GOSF is the best time to save big on a lot of e-commerce sites.
