Hey everyone!
Today I’m going to review two shades each from the L’Oreal Paris Shine Caresse and Rouge Caresse ranges. These were launched some time back, and I am probably very late in reviewing, but nonetheless, I still will
Price: Rs. 499 each. Available online on Flipkart.com
These are touted to be sheer lip stains, but on me, these are more like a gloss. These are sheer, no doubt, but don’t work like conventional stains on me. A regular stain would leave behind color on the lips, and not hydrate. These do stain the lips, and hydrate them too. Infact, these are my new-found love when it comes to increasing the staying power of any lipstick- when I go out these days, I just dab some of the product from one of the tubes, and it invariably increases the staying power of my regular lippies manifold. Kind of seals the color onto the lips- and the lipstick won’t budge or fade for hours.
On the down-side, and something which needs to be considered by a lot of us Indian girls, is that these are week in terms of pigmentation. I have very pigmented lips, and however much I love these products for what they do, I don’t see myself wearing these without some other color on my lips already. These do, however, leave some stain on the lips if you apply 2-3 layers, but layering too much leads to sticky lips
Bella is a pretty pinkish shade, which leaves behind a pink stain on the lips, and Pretty Woman is a basic n*de shade, which works well on almost all lipcolors
Price: Rs. 499 each. Available online on Flipkart.com.
Rouge Caresse are basically tinted balm-like lip colors, which feel very light and hydrating on the lips. The packaging, which is like a lipstick, looks really classy, and for 499 bucks, it’s fab! These again are too sheer for my pigmented lips, so I can’t make much use of these, but would look really beautiful on those with non-pigmented lips. But, then again, these are good to be used by college going girls, since the pigmentation is a little less and these are priced affordably.
Rose Mademoiselle is a pretty light pink shade- would suit those with fair skin tones better. Dating Coral is a universally flattering shade of coral
Final word: If I had to take a pick, I’d definitely go ahead with Shine Caresse for my personal use. Otherwise, I’m impressed how L’Oreal India has priced both the products well, and you must try atleast one shade and see what you like! Rouge Caresse range has some pretty sheer shades too!
