This man tried to rob a store and now he’s suing for emotional distress!

David Golson, 30, attempted to steal a Snickers bar from a 7-Eleven in Brooklyn last month and was caught by employees, who forcibly strip-searched him.

A video of the incident was recorded by one of the customers in the store and immediately went viral. Now Golson is suing 7-Eleven for the emotional distress he says the incident and the video has caused him.

In the video you can see three 7-Eleven employees grab Golson as he tries to make a run for it and then begin to rip his clothes off, stripping him down to his underwear.

Customers find the incident humorous at first, laughing at the scuffle, but then quickly change their reactions to disbelief, accusing the store clerks of “attacking” Golson.

One customer can be heard shouting in the video:

“This is ridiculous! For some Snickers!”

Golson was detained until police arrived and later charged with robbery, assault, criminal mischief and criminal possession of stolen property. It is not clear whether or not the charges have been dropped.

The 7-Eleven employees have been disciplined, a spokeswoman for the company has confirmed.

The man who is seen holding on to Golson for most of the video has been fired for restraining Golson and for allegedly biting Golson on the back. The other two employees were forced to retake a class on safety and security.

Here is the humiliating video:

Do you think the 7-Eleven employees were wrong in their actions or do you think Golson got what he deserved? Sound off below!
