Haridwar: The land of gods got flooded with devotion to God as the Sant Nirankari Mission commenced its 2-day Second State-level Nirankari Sant Samagam here today. The venue is the vast Pantdweep Maidan near Har Ki Pauri.
The Samagam began with a colourful procession. Starting from Swami Sarvadanand Ghat, it concluded at the venue of the Samagam.Clad in their traditional costumes, thousands of devotees marched while singing and dancing,presenting a beautiful picture of unity in diversity.
His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj and his gracious spouse,addressed by devotees as Pujya Mata Sawinder Ji,were seated in a beautifully decorated open vehicle. The devotees marched past from in front of divine couple seeking their blessings. The joy expressed through devotional songs and folk dances showed not only their hearty welcome to the holy couple but also their faith and trust in Satguru as well as their gratitude towards him for having blessed them with God-knowledge and the art of living based on the same.
The procession was marked by a beautiful bouquette of flowers of the cultural life of almost every district of the state.Devotees presented Kumaoni, Garhwali, Jaunsari, Chamoli, Panna, Jhora, Nepali, Rajasthani, Haryanvi, Bhangra, Giddha and Dandia dances as also Dhol Bajwa and Kalash. Several groups of children also participated with their own variety of dances and songs.Many groups of devotees were led by their own bands.The procession also highlighted the Mission’s contribution towards blood donation.
