For 13 years, KAMERS has showcased an ever-growing community of our country’s most creative, innovative and exciting ‘makers’ for discerning SA consumers.
Building on the ever-growing demand for hand-crafted, passionately made products – bought directly from those who make them – KAMERS will again introduce dozens of new creative ‘maker’ entrepreneurs over five shows during 2016.
Says Wanda du Toit, one of KAMERS founders, “If ever my positivity for this country dips, I only need to revisit our 200 strong waiting list of talented, ingenious, enterprising people whom we audition every quarter for our shows… The creativity and self-starting energy that is out there, in the most unlikely of places, and all over South Africa, is extraordinarily encouraging!”
This lucky thirteenth year is set to be one of real growth for SA’s most dynamic pop-up retail platform – one that gives hundreds of talented entrepreneurs a supportive and nurturing environment within which to cut their teeth in retail.
Here’s just a taste of what is planned…
Shows in Gauteng – St John’s College in late April with a second Jozi show planned for early SeptemberIrene end of year extravaganza – again to be held at Open Window School
Cape shows will be in early June at the Castle (part of their 350th Anniversary) and in the Winelands in early November
Our Young Entrepreneurs programme will see at least a dozen of our traders at every show being younger than 28 years old, with only a year or less in business – a real kickstart for SA’s new entrepreneurial talent
Incub8 – our entrepreneurship program, in partnership with Absa, which will see hand-picked young talent given intensive mentoring from a panel of experts in order to leverage fledgling talent into thriving businesses
Each of our 2016 shows will carry the creative torch even further… as the original innovators of large-scale pop-up creative trading spaces in SA, we’re flattered by the explosion of design, craft and food ‘makers markets’ across the country and are committed to pushing the KAMERS magic even further through the years to come…
