John W. “Bob” Cofsky, 81, of Sandwich, (formerly of Grafton) passed away on June 9, 2015 at Cape Cod Hospital following a short illness. He is predeceased by his wife of 56 years Jeanette (Bernier) Cofsky; his daughters, Rebecca DeFeudis, and Cynthia Cofsky; as well as his brothers, Richard and Earl Cofsky. He leaves behind three children: daughter, Christine Backman; son, Gregory Cofsky and his wife Barbara; and daughter, Lisa Sena and her husband Joseph; six grandsons: Sean DeFeudis; Jason DeFeudis and his wife, Amy; Joseph Sena and his wife, Rebecca; Christopher Sena; Douglas Backman; and Zachary Backman; four great-grandsons: Joseph II, Carter, Max and Jack Sena. He also leaves two brothers, Raymond and David Cofsky.

He was born in Millbury, son of the late Mary E. (Westerlind) and Everett G. Cofsky. After his retirement from the Dennis Police Department, he pursued his passions. He loved the challenge of fishing at the Cape Cod Canal, hunting, gardening, and listening to Polish music; he had the best sense of humor and a smile that lit up the room. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, family member and friend. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to gather Monday, June 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., N. Grafton, MA., 01536. A celebratory mass will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church, 356 Boston Road, Sutton. He will then be laid to rest with his wife, Jeanette, at Howard Cemetery in Sutton.
