Here in Southern California we are having a mild early spring, so I decided it was time to transfer the front porch from cold weather to warm weather mode. We only have a front yard so we spend a lot of time out on the porch, drinking lemonade (spiked with vodka), watching Ella play in the yard (check out her new playhouse my husband built!), and saying hello to the neighbors who pass by.

We happen to have a gorgeous wisteria that is in full bloom right now, so it is also an impetus to refresh the porch so we can enjoy its beauty and intoxicating fragrance.

You can see how the porch looked last summer here. We had just added the colorful cabinet and the side tables, but we didn’t have the coffee table or any of the knick-nacks you see in the photo. The coffee table was one that I had lent to my sister that she didn’t want anymore and it fit perfectly on the porch. Everything else came from my favorite store, HomeGoods! I have mentioned my love for HomeGoods quite a few times on the blog, so when I had the chance to meet them this past winter at AltSummit, I was thrilled! Due to my fan girl status, they had heard of my blog, so we decided to team up and they are sponsoring this post! How cool is that?

See the crab tray pictured above? HomeGoods.

Notice the driftwood seagull, the “sea shore” sign and the throw pillow? HomeGoods.

I bet you can’t guess where I got the throw blanket and pillows? You got it- HomeGoods!

I am going to digress for a moment because I am totally obsessed with my Greek statue head vases. I saw this photo forever ago and wanted to try the same thing in my garden ever since. Unfortunately I had no idea where to find those planters until I was doing my shopping expedition for this post and saw this trio! Of course I had to have them. What do you think I should name them? We have one vote for Horace and Eurydice. Add your suggestions for names in the comments below. I might spray paint them in bright colors, but for now I am enjoying the neutral grays and white. Oh and the rusty radio flyer wagon? That was mine when I was a kid!

Back to the front porch. I decided to concentrate on making my shelves look inviting, so I purchased a few tchotchkes to add to the beach theme of the home.

The two bathing beauties are my favorite. HomeGoods, of course. But if I told you I got them at Anthropologie, I bet you would have believed me. That is why I adore HomeGoods so much- it is just as thrilling as thrift shopping, only I know I will find something I love every time I go. So if you haven’t been to HomeGoods yet, I highly recommend trying it, at least once, to see if you like it as much as I do.
