Social media sensation, fashion darling, eyebrow idol, boohoo’s newest designer

Let’s hear it for Nadia Aboulhosn.

Reppin’ it for the curvy girls, no wait, ALL GIRLS of all sizes, Nadia Aboulhosn is a true icon of the social generation. With over 190 thousand followers on Instagram, 120,000 on Facebook and 16,000 on twitter, there’s no doubt she’s piqued the interest of her tech savvy audience. And, Counting Lena Dunham amongst her biggest fans, Aboulhosn’s girl power is obvious.

Based in New York, she’s been blogging since 2010, at first fitting it around an office 9-5; now being Nadia is a full time job. Why do people love her so much? We’d guess it’s her realness, not just in size (she’s a UK 16) but attitude. Take or leave her, she is always true to herself and sends out a positive message to her followers that loving yourself is always the first point of call.

Nadia never glamorises her world for fashion’s sake and her Instagram is brimming with no make-up, glasses-on, derpy posts along with ‘those’ ootds. Talking of her infamous and undeniably fierce outfit posts, she religiously dresses to show off, not cover up her shape. She represents a new paradigm where curves in all the right places are getting all the right attention (hallelujah). 2015 is all about the booty, and OH does Nadia rock hers.

So what’s next? This month finally see’s the launch of the Nadia Aboulhosn collection for boohoo Plus. We know, we’ve been talking about it a lot, but that’s because we’re really excited about it! Since becoming the poster girl for the brand’s standard Plus range, it was instantly clear that Nadia is a girl who owns her curves. Always keen to style the pieces her way, it was only natural for boohoo to take the next step in collaborating on a signature collection.

In true ‘Head B**** in Charge’ style Nadia was very instrumental in the conception and design of the exclusive 20 piece collection that launches at the end of March ready for SS15. She was clear from the get-go that the edit should be packed with those statement pieces that plus girls struggle to find on the high street. From scuba co-ords and bodysuits to cutaway body-con dresses, asymmetric skirts and varsity jumpsuits the Nadia collection has a sexy vs. sporty vibe that we just love. Exuding the empowerment that Nadia preaches, the collection plays with androgyny, saying it’s ok to be sexy, it’s ok to be a tomboy and it’s even better to be in charge of your own body and style. Girls of all sizes will want to bag this collection, especially the H.B.I.C slogan tee, if you’re size 16-24, get ready to make your less than average size friends green with envy!
