Oakville, Canada – On Oct 8th, Rahyma Awanife, a Nigerian-born Canadian fashion designer, launched a new clothing line on Kickstarter. The collection includes the new Peplum-Style African-Print Blazer, the Bustier Jumpsuit, an African-print high waist skirt, RahymaSleek comfy winter scarfs, and more. So far, the collection has raised over $2,000 in pledges on Kickstarter.
“This project was created out of countless request from my clients for a blazer in an African print that is unique and stylish,” says Awanife. “Every woman loves blazers that fits perfectly. The beauty of this blazer is that it’s an all season blazer.”
The new Peplum-Style African Print Blazer is made with 100% cotton print fabric. It features bold and bright prints with refreshing colors, 2 functional front pockets, and surprise peplum back. This piece is the newest fashion product in the Rahyma label.
Rather than going through a traditional retailer, Rahyma decided to go straight to fashion enthusiasts through the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform. In exchange for pledging to the crowdfunding campaign, which will help with the initial production of items from the Rahyma label, backers will have access to exclusive ‘perks’ or ‘rewards.’
These rewards include a shout out on social media, specially designed African-print scarves, an African-print chiffon maxi skirt, the flagship African-print blazer, a customized African-print table cloth, and more. Once backers have pledged to the campaign, they may choose one reward tier and gain access to project updates and the project’s comment section.
