ANNE SOFIE MADSEN: Hated It! But Love It Too!!!

Paris, France – Anne Sofie Madsen has her finger literally on the pulse of what is trending in fashion at the moment. So she is definitely going to receive accolades for her new Spring/Summer 2017 collection that will translate into both sales and editorial pages. BUT in her quest to be “trendy”, she mixes the beautiful with the ugly.
First off lets start with the good that we just love. Anne Sofie Madsen involves a personal obsession with ruffles. This is the shocking huge trend of the season. They are used as embellishments in the blouses, collars and dresses. The element gives the pieces a very distinguished look. The second element in the collection comes as a standout detail in the trousers. The Madsen is using large, horizontally placed stitching, which brings unexpected depth to the garments. And also, the designer is including interesting buckles in the pieces, which make it all the more interesting.
Anne Sofie Madsen is following the hot international anti-aesthetics trend too. Fashion and beauty go hand in hand together. However she has clearly opted to go with the trend of making the models go without or seemingly go without makeup this season.
This writer has no problem with the lack of makeup. Rather it has to do with the models. The selection was not such a good one. Sincerely speaking those chosen were quite simple put, “very unattractive“. And worse, many of them had clear cases of acne and generally bad skin. Though this decision keeps the attention on the garments, it certainly makes for questionably (un)attractive photos.
But in the end, this writer gladly concedes that as far as the fashions are concerned, no reproaches are possible. I love it !!!
