Daniel Jeremiah, Bucky Brooks and Lance Zierlein all have different ideas on what the Falcons may do with the eighth-overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
If there is a silver lining from this past season, it's that the Falcons have a high draft pick to address a roster need. Reid Ferrin at AtlantaFalcons.com has a breakdown of predictions from NFL Media analysts on which player Atlanta will select with the eighth-overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Former NFL scout and current NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah has his eye on Amari Cooper, the standout wide receiver from Bama, as a potential eighth-overall target for the Falcons. Surely many people see the appeal of Cooper and Julio Jones on the same team, but with other glaring needs, this may not be Atlanta's strategy in the first round.
Bucky Brooks, a former player and scout and current sportswriter and NFL Network analyst, believes the Falcons will address their lack of pass rush with their first pick, landing Clemson's Vic Beasley with the eighth overall selection. Beasley's skill set, including phenomenal burst, make him an appealing selection. Dan Kadar at Mocking the Draft recently mocked Beasley to the Falcons, stating that Beasley could fill the Bruce Irvin role in Dan Quinn's new defense.
Lance Zierlein, a draft analyst for NFL.com, also believes Atlanta will address the pass rush with their first pick by targeting Nebraska outside linebacker Randy Gregory. Gregory is physically intimidating, at 6'6" and 240 pounds, and could probably add a little weight to his frame and be more effective as a run stopper without compromising his pass rushing ability. His anticipation and burst are not as good as Beasley's at present, but if he develops in those areas his ceiling is extremely high.
